Job Title: TX/DWDM Engineer

Primary objective of the job: 

As the TX/DWDM Engineer, your duties will include:

• Commission transport network systems.
• Provide level 2 technical support to the Fixed and Mobile Global Network Operations Centre, and local field force.
• Ensure configuration management, life cycle management, and deployment and end to end testing of solutions.
• Responsible for documentation, governance, and network health including maintaining and improving network KPI’s, future proofing growth through design optimization and network surveillance practices.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Academic Qualifications and Experience Required:

• BEng, BSc , National Diploma in a Telecommunications or Electronics/Electrical related field
• (SDH-SONET / DWDM / GPON / PDH / IP) Fixed Fibre and Mobile Microwave network designs
• Ability to work in a team or unsupervised with minimal direction
• Strong IP/MPLS – SDH/SONET – PDH theoretical and practical implementation knowledge
• KPI Reporting using a wide range of network surveillance techniques
• Low level Network Design - Local/National/International
• CCNA/CCDP Essential

Functional Skills:

• A high level of expertise with link budget tools (Atoll, Pathloss preferred)
• Knowledge of Ericsson and ZTE and/or Huawei transmission systems
