The Port Authority of Jamaica wishes to recruit a JUNIOR INTERNAL AUDITOR (TEMPORARY) in the Group Internal Audit Department.
SALARY SCALE: $2,702,439.74 per annum
JOB SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for facilitating the conduct of audit assignments ensuring the efficiency, effectiveness and economy of internal control systems and governance processes.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration or Computer Science PLUS
Two (2) years experience in accounting or auditing.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform audit reviews and execute audit programmes.
Draft internal audit reports when requested.
Assist the Internal Audit Assistants on assignments.
Maintain working papers that reflect the audit activities performed.
Follow-up on audit findings to ensure that management has taken corrective action(s).
Maintain accurate time management information for submission, as required.
Review records to ensure that they are accurate and complete according to company standards.
Review established procedures to ensure that they are being followed correctly.
Perform simple calculations.
Help in coordinating assignments with the senior auditor.
Prepare audit memoranda on the result of audit activities performed.
