POSITION PURPOSE:

The incumbent is required to ensure the efficient and effective implementation of Fontana’s Loss Prevention Policy and  maintain a safe and secure environment for customers and employees and respond promptly to security incidents. Perform all appropriate related and unrelated duties, as directed.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

The following are specific responsibilities and contributions critical to the successful performance of the position:

Greet customers when they are entering the store.
Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and other persons to guard against theft and maintain security of premises.
Check customer receipts at the door.
Prevent losses and damage by reporting irregularities; informing violators of policy and procedures; restraining trespassers.
Act lawfully in direct defense of life or property
Secure premises and personnel by patrolling property, monitoring surveillance equipment, inspecting buildings, equipment, and access points; permitting entry.
Answer alarms and investigate disturbances.
Write reports of daily activities and irregularities, such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences.
Use walkie-talkies, pagers, and cell phones to stay in contact with security personnel.
Regulate and monitor building systems.
Assist in the closing of the store.
Provide clear guidance to employees and visitors on safety protocols and emergency procedures.
Perform routine inspections of doors, windows, and equipment to prevent unauthorized access or damage.
Assist in evacuations or other emergency actions when necessary
Respond promptly to alarms, disturbances, and emergencies, ensuring the safety of employees and visitors.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE/  EDUCATION

Previous experience in security, military, or law enforcement is strongly preferred.
High school  diploma and/or at  least 3 years of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Effective verbal and written communication skills
PSRA compliant
Clean police record

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

Demonstrated ability to assess situations and respond appropriately.
Hands-on experience of using and installing alarm systems.
Proven ability to work independently.
Ability to work flexible hours.
Ability to handle and resolve conflicts in an effective manner.
Must possess a high level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency
Must have strong internal and external customer service skills
Exceptional attention to detail and situational awareness.
Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
Ability to remain calm and composed during emergencies or high-pressure situations.
Physical fitness to handle patrolling, standing for long periods, and responding to incidents quickly.
