The JESS Operations Support Intern provides entry-level support across the JESS Operations team in accordance with standard operating procedures and guidance from team leaders.
KPMG Jamaica has a delivery center named “Jamaica Extended Support Services (JESS)” operating from Kingston, which is contracted to provide back-office support to its member firm KPMG United States (“the Client”).
The JESS Operations team supports core business operations across Operations Administration & Office Experience, Business Intelligence & Reporting, Communications. This internship is designed as an entry-level learning opportunity for a candidate with little to no prior work experience, with particular exposure to how analytical applications support day-to-day operations. This role offers hands-on experience in administrative coordination, data preparation, reporting, dashboard and tracker maintenance, communications support and using operational information to help the team monitor activities, identify trends, and support decision-making.
The JESS Operations Support Intern provides entry-level support across the JESS Operations team in accordance with standard operating procedures and guidance from team leaders. The role places particular emphasis on learning how analytical tools, reports, and operational data are used to support Operations Administration, Business Intelligence & Reporting, and Communications, while assisting with routine coordination, data handling, reporting activities, and day-to-day team support.
The JESS Operations Support Intern reports primarily to the JESS Operations Manager and may also receive day-to-day guidance from team members supporting Operations Administration, Business Intelligence & Reporting, and Communications who are responsible for the work being assigned.
— Assist and support the JESS Operations team across Operations Administration, Business Intelligence & Reporting, and Communications, with a focus on applying basic analytical support to operational activities:
— Provide administrative support for day-to-day operational activities, including scheduling assistance, document preparation, and maintaining organized records.
— Assist with collecting, organizing, validating, and maintaining basic operational data to support reports, trackers, dashboards, and recurring team updates.
— Support the preparation, formatting, and quality review of recurring reports, presentations, and communications materials that use operational data and insights.
— Complete assigned tasks accurately and on time while following established processes, templates, and guidance, and escalating data issues or inconsistencies where appropriate.
— Assist with maintaining trackers, dashboards, and other operational tools used to monitor work volumes, service activity, progress against tasks, and reporting needs.
— Support internal communications by helping draft, format, proofread, and distribute routine messages and updates.
— Participate actively in team meetings, knowledge sharing, and learning opportunities across the Operations functions.
— Assist with ad hoc projects and other operational tasks as needed, including assignments that build exposure to analytical applications, reporting processes, and continuous improvement across multiple areas of the team.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
— Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, or Equivalent Professional Accreditation.
Or
— Enrolled in final year of bachelor’s degree programme
— Little to no experience required
— Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
— Our team is using a hybrid work model, allowing flexibility between working from home in Jamaica and being in the office. You will be required to spend a minimum of five days each month in the office, though this number may increase depending on business needs
— Expected to work in a fast pace team environment
— Will be working primarily in a paperless environment and expected to be using information systems for the entire workday to access data or perform activities
— May be required to work extended hours periodically or on public holidays
