The HR Officer supports key HR functions including employee relations, recruitment, compensation and benefits, performance management, and administration, ensuring the smooth and effective operation of the HR Department.
Duties and Responsibilities
Assist with the identification, selection, and interviewing of candidates, as well as recruitment administration and onboarding activities.
Provide administrative support to ensure the smooth day-to-day operations of the department.
Respond to and assist with resolving HR-related queries and requests.
Maintain accurate employee information and ensure employee records are updated and properly managed in both hard and soft copy formats.
Conduct exit interviews and coordinate offboarding activities as required.
Manage employee complaints and grievances, coordinate Industrial Relations investigations, prepare relevant documentation, and schedule meetings to support timely resolution of matters.
Administer employee benefit programmes, conduct audits and reconciliations for compliance and accuracy, and recommend process improvements where necessary.
Prepare correspondence, reports, and other documentation as required.
Monitor temporary contracts and probationary periods in collaboration with Line Managers, ensuring reviews are completed and performance concerns are documented.
Ensure payroll-related documentation is submitted in a timely manner.
Perform any other duties related to the job function as assigned.
Person Specification
Minimum Education and Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Psychology, Management, or a related field from a recognised accredited institution.
Certification in Industrial Relations or Labour Law in Trinidad and Tobago would be considered an asset.
Experience
Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years’ progressive Human Resources experience.
Proficiency in TTPAY, HRP5, and Microsoft Office Suite.

Strong organisational, prioritisation, and communication skills.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with sound judgement.
