JANITOR / CUSTODIAN

The Janitor / Custodian is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of the Carapo Warehouse, its Offices and the surrounding areas.

Job Summary: The Janitor / Custodian is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of the Carapo Warehouse, its Offices and the surrounding areas. He / she will also ensure a visually pleasing, hygienic and safe environment for all customers and staff.

 Reports to:

 Facilities Coordinator

Key Responsibilities:

• Dusting, mopping, sweeping, sanitizing, vacuuming and maintaining the Carapo Warehouse, its Offices and its restrooms.
• Cleaning the interior of buildings including desks, floors, carpets, windows and walls.
• Ensuring that bathroom accessories / essentials, such as paper towels, soap, and toilet paper, are well-stocked and appropriately distributed.
• Maintaining cleaning inventory, placing orders for new products when needed
• Taking out the trash, cleaning the exterior surrounding areas of the Carapo Warehouse
• Sanitising frequently used items like desks, door handles, office tools and phones
• Notify the maintenance supervisor of stock shortages, breakage, or loss of sanitation equipment or supplies.
• Perform any other related duties as required.

 Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Capable of operating sanitation equipment including floor scrubbers, brush cutters, vacuums, pressure washers etc.
• Capable of working independently or as part of a team.
• Working knowledge of cleaning products, disinfectants, floor cleaners, etc.  
• Knowledge of cleaning methods e.g. sweeping, mopping etc.
• Able to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
