The Inventory Controller oversees the company’s inventory and is responsible for securing and maintaining accurate inventory records, optimizing inventory levels, coordinating stock replenishment, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. .

We are a fast-moving medium-sized Distribution and Processing Company seeking to identify a suitably qualified individual for the position Inventory Controller for our Clarendon location

 

Job Summary

The Inventory Controller oversees the company’s inventory and is responsible for securing and maintaining accurate inventory records, optimizing inventory levels, coordinating stock replenishment, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. Analyzes daily product and supply levels to anticipate inventory problems and shortages. 

Key Functions:

  • To ensure the security and quality of the company stocks.
  • To manage and conduct perpetual and cycle counts.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records using electronic inventory management systems (e.g., ERP software Odoo) and manual documentation as needed.
  • Oversee the receiving process for incoming shipments, ensuring accuracy and completeness of deliveries.
  • Enter receiving data into inventory management systems or electronic databases to update inventory records and facilitate inventory reconciliation and tracking.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of received shipments to verify product quality, quantity, and compliance with purchase orders, packing slips, and shipping documents.
  • Identify and document any discrepancies, damages, or discrepancies in received shipments and report to the procurement & logistics team.
  • Coordinate with warehouse personnel to allocate storage locations for received inventory items based on storage requirements, product characteristics, and inventory replenishment priorities.
  • Generate regular reports and performance metrics related to inventory accuracy, stock levels, order fulfillment rates, and inventory turnover for management review and decision-making.
  • Lead and supervise a team of inventory officers, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback to ensure high standards of productivity and accuracy.
  • To ensure transfers from different warehouses and manufacturing are carried out based on company procedure. 

Education /Experience

  • Associate’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in inventory management, preferably in the Manufacturing industry.
  • Strong knowledge of inventory control principles, including inventory valuation methods and cycle counting.
  • Proficiency in using inventory management software and ERP systems for inventory tracking and analysis.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and Access

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks effectively.
