The Inventory Analyst is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records, supporting stock control processes, and ensuring compliance with HACCP food safety standards.

Job Summary

The Inventory Analyst plays a critical role in supporting warehouse and procurement operations by ensuring accurate inventory control, efficient stock movement, and compliance with HACCP food safety standards. This position is essential to maintaining optimal inventory levels, minimising waste, and ensuring operational readiness within a fast-paced catering environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate inventory records for raw materials, packaging, and finished goods
  • Perform routine cycle counts and full inventory audits; investigate and resolve discrepancies
  • Ensure proper stock rotation (FIFO/FEFO) and storage practices in accordance with HACCP standards
  • Analyse inventory trends and usage patterns to support procurement planning and minimise stockouts or overstocking
  • Prepare and distribute daily, weekly, and monthly inventory reports
  • Support the implementation and improvement of inventory control systems and processes
  • Ensure compliance with all food safety, labelling, and storage protocols
  • Collaborate with warehouse, procurement, and production teams to maintain inventory accuracy
  • Assist with training team members on inventory best practices and HACCP compliance
  • Support alignment of inventory strategies with operational and business goals

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in inventory control or warehouse operations, preferably within a food service or catering environment
  • Strong working knowledge of HACCP principles and food safety standards
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and inventory management systems
  • Experience with ERP/WMS platforms such as SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite is an asset

  • Participation in process improvement initiatives related to inventory and warehouse operations

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods
  • Must be able to lift up to 20 lbs (9 kg)
  • Comfortable working in cold storage environments (chillers/freezers)
  • Ability to operate handheld scanners and inventory tools
  • Willingness to wear required PPE in compliance with safety standards
