The I.T. Manager at our telecommunications company plays a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth functioning of our technological infrastructure. This role encompasses managing and coordinating various aspects of information technology to support the company's operations, services, and strategic objectives.

Responsibilities:

  1. Infrastructure Management:

    • Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of the company's IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, telecommunications systems, and other hardware.
    • Ensure the reliability, security, and scalability of the infrastructure to meet business needs.
  2. Systems Administration:

    • Manage and administer servers, operating systems, and software applications to ensure optimal performance and availability.
    • Implement and maintain appropriate security measures to protect company data and systems from cyber threats.
  3. Network Management:

    • Monitor and manage the company's network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, VPN, and internet connections.
    • Troubleshoot network issues and implement solutions to ensure uninterrupted connectivity.
  4. Telecommunications:

    • Oversee telecommunications systems, including voice and data communication services.
    • Evaluate and implement technologies to improve communication efficiency and reduce costs.
  5. Team Leadership:

    • Lead a team of IT professionals, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to ensure their professional growth and productivity.
    • Coordinate with other departments to understand their IT needs and align technology solutions accordingly.
  6. Vendor Management:

    • Manage relationships with technology vendors and service providers, negotiating contracts and agreements to ensure cost-effectiveness and quality of service.
    • Evaluate new products and services to assess their suitability for the company's needs.
  7. Budgeting and Planning:

    • Develop and manage the IT budget, ensuring that expenditures are aligned with business priorities and cost-effective.
    • Participate in strategic planning to identify technological opportunities and risks, and recommend appropriate actions.
  8. Compliance and Security:

    • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
    • Implement and enforce security policies and procedures to safeguard company data and assets.
  9. Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity:

    • Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans and procedures to minimize downtime and data loss in the event of a system failure or cyber attack.
    • Conduct regular testing and drills to ensure the effectiveness of the plans.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Proven experience of minimum 3 years in IT management roles, preferably in the telecommunications industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of IT systems, networks, and telecommunications technologies.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage projects effectively.
