Purpose of Consultancy
The purpose of the consultancy is to produce seven (7) high-quality, youth-informed, accessible, human-based educational videos that strengthen advocacy, outreach, and behaviour change communication on SRHR and GBV issues, while creating reusable audiovisual assets that extend the impact of the Equal SRH Initiative beyond its funding period.

The consultancy will also ensure that all audiovisual content produced is accessible and inclusive of persons with disabilities, consistent with UNFPA’s disability inclusion commitments and human rights-based approach.
Scope of work/Main tasks and responsibilities, et al
The consultant (videographer) will be responsible for producing seven (7) topic-specific, human-based educational videos, structured into two (2) lots, to support UNFPA Trinidad and Tobago’s advocacy, digital communication, outreach, and community education efforts.

Lot 1: Four (4) Topic Videos
The consultant (videographer) will produce four (4) educational videos focusing on the following thematic areas:

  • Gender-Based Violence in Emergencies (GBViE)
  • Sports and GBV
  • Social Norms and Behaviour Change: Men and Boys as allies
  • GBV and Persons with Disabilities

Lot 2: Three (3) Topic Videos
The consultant (videographer) will produce three (3) educational videos focusing on the following thematic areas:

  • Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs)
  • Adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) Guidelines
  • Intimate Partner Violence (IPV)

The consultant (videographer) will:

  • Support pre-production planning, including concept development and refinement of scripts in collaboration with UNFPA and youth representatives;
  • Develop storyboards and production schedules;
  • Coordinate with interviewees and featured participants in collaboration with UNFPA.

Note: UNFPA will be responsible for drafting the initial scripts, which will be further refined in collaboration with the Consultant (Videographer).

The consultant (videographer) will ensure that videos under these lots are produced using inclusive storytelling approaches and that persons with disabilities are meaningfully represented, where appropriate. Accessibility measures such as visible sign language interpretation, clear captioning, and accessible on-screen text must be incorporated.

These videos will aim to promote accurate information, increase awareness, and support informed decision-making related to sexual and reproductive health and rights and violence prevention.

Use of Videos:
Videos will serve as long-term advocacy and training tools for government and civil society partners, mobile outreach services, schools, and community education programmes, maximizing the return on investment of project resources.

All seven videos will be developed for:

  • Publication on UNFPA Trinidad and Tobago’s digital platforms, including social media and websites; and
  • Use during community outreach activities, campaigns, and events throughout the year.
 
The consultant (videographer) will ensure that all content is aligned with UNFPA’s communication standards, branding guidelines, and priority areas for implementation.

The consultant (videographer) will ensure that videos under this lot are accessible to persons with disabilities, including the integration of sign language interpretation, accurate subtitles, and clear visual presentation of key messages. Representation of persons with disabilities should be considered where relevant to the thematic area.

Accessibility and Disability Inclusion:
The consultant (videographer) will ensure that all seven (7) videos comply with accessibility best practices, including:

Inclusion of a qualified sign language interpreter visible on screen (picture-in-picture format or integrated layout).

Clear, synchronised English subtitles.

High-contrast on-screen text and readable font sizes.

Professional audio mixing to ensure clarity and compatibility with assistive listening devices.

Framing and composition that allows visibility of sign language interpretation.

Avoidance of flashing imagery that may trigger photosensitive conditions.

The consultant (videographer) will coordinate with UNFPA Trinidad and Tobago regarding interpretation services and inclusive representation.
 
Required Qualifications and Experience

 

The ideal candidate should possess the following:

Education
  • A professional certification in Film Production, Media Studies, Communications or Journalism.
Experience
  • Minimum of three (3) years of demonstrated experience in professional videography and video production, including filming and post-production.
  • Proven experience producing short-form educational, documentary, or promotional videos, preferably for development, public health, or social impact initiatives.
  • Experience working with international organizations, UN agencies, NGOs, or public sector institutions is an asset.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in all aspects of video production, including:
  • Pre-production planning
  • On-location filming
  • Video editing and post-production
  • Ability to produce high-quality video and audio using professional equipment.
  • Proficiency in industry-standard video editing software (e.g. Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or equivalent).
  • Experience incorporating branding, lower thirds, subtitles, and basic motion graphics into video products.
  • Knowledge of producing content optimised for digital platforms and social media.
 
Competencies
  • Strong storytelling skills, with the ability to translate complex or sensitive topics into clear, engaging, and accessible audiovisual content.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with communications and programme teams and respond effectively to feedback.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to meet agreed deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality deliverables.
  • Cultural sensitivity and the ability to work on issues related to gender equality, GBV, and SRHR in a respectful and rights-based manner.
 
Language Requirements
  • Fluency in English (spoken and written) is required.
  • Ability to produce clear English subtitles and on-screen text.
  • Knowledge of local dialects or cultural context within Trinidad and Tobago is an asset.
