We are looking for an in-store Agronomist.

Purpose of the Role

To provide in-store agronomic expertise, technical support, and customer guidance in alignment with the division’s business strategy. The In-Store Agronomist will support customers with product recommendations, promote best agricultural practices, strengthen customer relationships, and drive sales growth through technical knowledge and service excellence.

 

Principal Responsibilities

  • Provide professional agronomic advice and product recommendations to farmers and walk-in customers.
  • Support sales staff with technical knowledge on crop protection products, fertilizers, seeds, and other agricultural inputs.
  • Conduct in-store and on-site product demonstrations and offer guidance on proper product usage and stewardship.
  • Assist customers in diagnosing crop problems and recommending appropriate solutions.
  • Promote good agricultural practices and ensure responsible product stewardship.
  • Support store merchandising, product displays, and promotional campaigns.
  • Prepare and distribute technical materials such as product guides, fact sheets, and usage recommendations.
  • Monitor customer feedback, market trends, and competitor activity, and provide insights to management.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers to encourage repeat business and customer loyalty.

Minimum Education & Experience

  • Certifications in Agriculture or in Natural Sciences.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in Agronomy, agricultural retail, or a related field (preferred).
  • Experience in customer-facing or sales support roles will be an advantage.
