IT Risk & Issue Resolution Specialist

KPMG Jamaica’s Jamaica Extended Support Services (JESS) is seeking a highly motivated IT Risk & Issue Resolution Specialist to join our Risk Management workstream. In this role, you’ll play a critical part in strengthening organizational resilience by identifying, investigating, and resolving IT and security‑related issues while partnering with global stakeholders across IT and the business.

What You’ll Do
- Own the end‑to‑end management of IT and risk issues, from identification through investigation, root cause analysis, and remediation.
- Lead issue resolution sessions, working with remediation teams to define corrective actions and realistic timelines.
- Analyze issue trends to uncover process improvement and risk mitigation opportunities, presenting clear insights and recommendations to leadership.
- Collaborate closely with IT and business stakeholders to execute risk reduction activities using sound risk management principles.
- Advise project teams on compensating controls when security requirements cannot be fully met, staying current on emerging security and risk trends.
- Contribute to monthly and quarterly leadership reporting, including the development and maintenance of key risk indicators (KRIs) and performance metrics.
- Participate in project teams or independently manage small initiatives, ensuring timely delivery of action items and documentation.
Must‑Have Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, or equivalent experience in IT, Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC), Audit, or Project Management.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in one or more of the following:
Risk management
IT audit
Issue management
Information security
- Hands‑on experience with compliance frameworks, audit methodologies, IT controls testing, issue investigation, and issue reporting.
- Strong understanding of IT security principles, security controls, and related technologies.
- Proven ability to analyze data, identify trends, and translate findings into actionable insights.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).
Preferred Skills
- Experience using data analytics tools, including Power BI.
- Familiarity with Artificial Intelligence tools such as Google Gemini and Microsoft Copilot.
- Prior experience in a large professional services or consulting environment.

Special Conditions
- JESS uses a hybrid work model, allowing staff to work from home in Jamaica or in the office. Employees must be in the office at least five days per month, with more days possible if required by business needs.
- You are expected to use KPMG-approved Generative AI tools to support your daily work tasks.
- Expected to work in a fast-paced team environment.
- Will be working primarily in a paperless environment and expected to be using information systems for the entire workday to access data or perform activities.
- May be required to work extended hours periodically or on public holidays.
