IT END USER SPECIALIST

The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring that employees can effectively utilize technology to perform their daily responsibilities. This position provides frontline technical support, maintains end-user computing environments, and assists with the implementation of new technologies and systems. The role requires strong problem-solving skills, technical aptitude, and a commitment to delivering outstanding customer service.

 Main Duties

  • Provide first-level technical support to end-users, ensuring prompt resolution of hardware, software, network, and system-related issues.
  • Monitor and maintain computer systems, workstations, laptops, printers, mobile devices, and other IT equipment.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot technical problems and implement effective solutions.
  • Manage and maintain Helpdesk tickets, including logging, assigning, escalating, tracking, and closing requests within established service levels.
  • Assist with the deployment, configuration, and testing of new applications, hardware, and technologies.
  • Set up and maintain user accounts, permissions, and access rights.
  • Support password resets, account troubleshooting, and user authentication issues.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on workstations, printers, and peripheral devices to ensure optimal performance.
  • Assist with software installations, upgrades, patches, and system updates.
  • Document technical issues, resolutions, and support procedures to promote knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
  • Educate users on best practices related to IT security, data protection, and system usage.
  • Support IT projects and initiatives as assigned.
  • Travel to company locations across the island to provide onsite technical support when required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support departmental and organizational objectives.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Minimum of three (3) years' experience providing end-user technical support in a corporate environment.
  • Strong understanding of computer hardware, operating systems, software applications, mobile devices, and peripheral equipment.
  • Experience supporting Microsoft Windows environments and standard business applications.
  • Knowledge of networking fundamentals and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Familiarity with Helpdesk ticketing systems and IT service management processes.
  • Understanding of cybersecurity, internet security, and data privacy principles would be an asset.
  • Experience with user account administration and access management.
  • Valid Driver's Licence and willingness to travel islandwide as required.
