Spike Industries Ltd., a leading player in Jamaica’s beverage industry, seeks a dynamic and commercially savvy IT Coordinator & Data Protection Officer.

About the Role

This is not your typical tech role—we’re looking for someone who understands how technology drives business results in real-world, non-tech environments. In this role, you will manage day-to-day IT operations and serve as a partner across departments to help improve efficiency, enhance customer service, and drive performance through smart technology use. You’ll ensure our systems support frontline teams in production, sales, and finance while maintaining data security and compliance with Jamaica’s Data Protection Act.

Key Responsibilities

  • Business-Aligned IT Management: Lead IT support and infrastructure across the company, ensuring systems align with operational and commercial goals.

  • Cross-Functional Support: Partner with sales, finance, operations, and marketing to deploy tools that improve productivity, sales performance, and decision-making.

  • IT Asset & Vendor Oversight: Manage procurement and lifecycle of hardware/software; negotiate with vendors to balance cost and quality.

  • Process Improvement: Identify technology solutions to simplify workflows and support ongoing operational improvement.

  • First-Line Support & Training: Provide hands-on support to employees; conduct practical training on digital tools and data security.

  • Data Protection & Compliance: Act as the company’s DPO, ensuring compliance with all relevant data privacy regulations and promoting a culture of data awareness.

What We’re Looking For

  • A tech-savvy problem solver with business insight.

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in IT roles, ideally within industries like manufacturing, distribution, retail, or FMCG.

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field.

  • Professional IT certifications are a plus.

  • Familiarity with ERP and business systems such as Oasys, SAGE, or CRM platforms.

  • Working knowledge of data protection laws (Jamaica DPA or equivalent) preferred.

  • Strong communication and training skills

  • Proven ability to coordinate IT projects, manage budgets, and liaise with vendors and external service providers.
