INTERNAL TRANSIT VEHICLE (ITV) OPERATOR – SEASONAL DAILY PAID

ITV Operator (Seasonal) reports directly to the Labour Office for onward deployment to vessel/yard/gate/warehouse operations

The Internal Transit Vehicle (ITV) Operator (Seasonal) reports directly to the Labour Office for onward deployment to vessel/yard/gate/warehouse operations. The ITV Operator operates the equipment for transfer of containers and/or cargo within the facility of the Port Authority of Trinidad and Tobago.

• Safe and efficient operating of Authority's ITVs which are used for the transfer of containers during Vessel, Yard, Gate and Warehouse Operations.
• Safe and efficient operating of Authority's Forklifts during the delivery or transfer of cargo within the PATT's Facility.
• Safe transfer of vehicles which have arrived into and are to be shipped from the PATT's Facility.
• Safe removal of vehicles off RORO vessels or from containers.
• Safe stowing of vehicles on board RORO vessels or into containers.
• Timely and accurate communication with the Foreman and Dispatcher.
• Timely reporting of incident, accidents or break down to the Foreman.
• Responsible for maintenance of vehicles cabins in a clean and sanitary conditions.
• Performs any other related duties as may be assigned.

• Evidence of having completed secondary school (CXC qualifications in Mathematics and

English will be an asset)

• Holder of a valid class 5 Trinidad and Tobago Driver's license
• Holder of a valid Defensive Driving Certificate
• Minimum age of 25 years – Maximum age of 45 years
• Safe driving record (no major driving accidents within the last 2 years)
  • A valid Police Certificate of Character and two (2) character references
  • Mentally and physically fit
• Working knowledge of OSH
• Knowledge of safe operational procedures for Extra Heavy Motor Vehicles
• Must be very vigilant in the operations
• On-the-Job/ In-house training conducted by the Port Authority will be an asset.
• Knowledge of Port Operations will be an asset.
