The Import Export Officer’s responsibility is to ensure the smooth running of all functions related to imports and exports for the organization by conducting research, preparing statistical reports, etc.

Job Requirements & Qualification:

  • Degree in Business Administration or Shipping and Logistics
  • A minimum of two (2) years experience in Import/Export is required.
  • Key understanding of ASYCUDA system
  • Working knowledge of JSWIFT system
  • Working knowledge of Business Central 365
  • Proficient in  Microsoft Excel, word, Powerpoint
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both oral and in writing
  • Organizing and coordinating skills
  • Ability to organize and solve problems.
  • Attention to details.
  • Key understanding of customs system/procedures, tariffs etc.

 

 

Main Duties & Responsibilities include, but is not limited to:

  • Coordinate with freight forwarders, custom brokers and other stakeholders to ensure import issues and ensure smooth transaction.
  • Track shipments and monitor their progress to ensure timely delivery. Resolve issues related to delays such as custom holds, documentation discrepancies, etc.
  • Coordinate export jobs (from booking container, stuffing, collect bill of lading & deliver original documents to agent, communicate with agent and monitoring delivery.
  • Maintaining accurate records of import and export transactions including all related documentations and communications.
  • Preparation of Overseas Purchase Orders, Drugs & Poison permits and liaising and follow-up with the Customs Brokers to expedite the clearance of such.
  • Assist with custom audits and provide documentation for internal and external regulatory inspections.
