The Human Resources Officer - Employee Relations is responsible for fostering a positive, productive, and legally compliant workplace by assisting with employee relations matters, supporting conflict resolution, and ensuring adherence to organizational policies.

This role provides guidance to managers and employees on employee relations issues, conducts investigations, and supports initiatives that promote employee engagement, fairness, and organizational cohesion.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist in handling employee concerns, complaints, and queries.
  • Support the administration of the disciplinary and grievance processes.
  • Help schedule meetings, hearings, and interviews related to employee relations matters.
  • Assist with conducting or coordinating workplace investigations into misconduct, policy breaches, or complaints, ensuring confidentiality and impartiality.
  • Ensure corrective actions are implemented and monitored.
  • Take notes during meetings, interviews, and hearings as required.
  • Assist with preparing reports, letters, and case files under supervision.
  • Support compliance reporting and audits when required.
  • Provide basic guidance to employees on HR policies and procedures, referring complex issues to the Manager.
  • Maintain accurate records of all cases and track trends to support proactive interventions.
  • Assist in reviewing, interpreting, and implementing HR policies, procedures, and employee-related guidelines.
  • Assist with preparing and executing the annual engagement calendar of activities.
  • Assist with preparing the staff welfare budget.
  • Recommend and assist with programs aimed at improving employee morale, satisfaction, and engagement.
  • Coordinate and conduct visits to subsidiaries/departments as required to maintain and improve employee relations.
  • Support initiatives related to rewards and recognition, communication, and culture-building.
  • Prepare periodic reports on employee relations trends, grievances, investigations, and disciplinary actions.
  • Provide recommendations for organizational improvements based on analysis of ER data.
  • Submit invoices for processing.
  • Monitor variance reports across the group and recommend the appropriate disciplinary measures as prescribed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Human Resources Manager and SVP, People and Corporate Services.
Qualifications & Experience:
 
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Industrial Relations, Business Administration, Psychology, or related field.
  • Knowledge of labour laws, HR best practices, and disciplinary procedures.
  • Experience conducting investigations and managing sensitive employee issues is preferred.
  • 2–3 years of experience in employee relations, HR generalist functions, or labour relations.
