JOB SUMMARY:
Provides support in all functional areas of Human Resources including compensation, benefits, employee relations, employment and training in accordance with organizational goals and HR best practices and local labour laws.
KEY AND CRITICAL RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
Maintains and delivers Human Resources policies, procedures, and programs.
Communicates and interprets policies and procedures. Identifies employee relations issues and takes action to address and resolve those issues in accordance with HR best practices and locallabour laws.
Manage the disciplinary process and grievance procedure
Provides support and guidance to Supervisors and Managers on managing the employee life cycle.
Liaise with Trade Unions/IR professionals/Ministry of Labour/Industrial Court to discuss and resolve employee grievances.
Coordinates the administration of mandated and company sponsored benefit programs.
Analyzes wages and salaries and prepares job descriptions.
Partners with managers in the interviewing/hiring process and assisting with the onboarding process.
Oversees and coordinates processes related to employee transfers, administrative leave, and various types of leave of absence, ensuring compliance with company policies andrelevant regulations.
Manages the performance appraisal process inclusive of establishing timelines, providing guidance to leaders, and follow up to ensure completion.
Provides support in the coordination of employee engagement activities, including wellness programs and recognition initiatives.
Assists management team in the analysis and identification of special training needs.
Maintains and processes forms and records related to employment, benefits claims, etc., andprepares related reports.
Demonstrates a commitment to internal customer service; anticipates, meets, and exceeds expectations by solving problems quickly and effectively; making employee issues a priority.
Performs other duties as assigned.
KEY COMPETENCIES:
Knowledge & Experience
3 years of experience in a HR or related field, IR experience would be considered an asset
Working knowledge of labour legislation and HR best practices
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
Ability to adhere to deadlines
Good interpersonal and communication skills
Must possess good oral and written skills
Ability to conduct investigations and produce reports accordingly
Maintain high ethical standards and confidentiality
Proficient in HRIS
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Intermediate Level in Microsoft Excel)
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situationswherelimited standardization exists
Education/Accomplishments:
Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Social Sciences or related fields
IR certification would be considered an asset.
