The HCBA is responsible for providing expert advisory and case management support in the areas of Industrial Relations (IR), Employee Relations (ER), and Performance Management, while also supporting the HCBP with initiatives to drive Employee Engagement, Culture Transformation, and Employer Brand.
The HCBA works collaboratively with People Leaders and employees, ensuring the effective implementation of human capital initiatives, policies, and best practices, while maintaining compliance with relevant laws and organizational policies.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Industrial Relations & Employee Relations
- Advise People Leaders and employees on grievance, disciplinary, and dispute resolution processes in compliance with legal requirements and internal policies.
- Draft and review letters of advice, disciplinary notices, warning letters, and other employee correspondence.
- Lead or support IR investigations, including conducting interviews, compiling incident timelines, and preparing investigation reports.
- Partner with the HCBP and Employee Relations & Benefits (ER&B) COE to manage IR/ER cases, ensuring timely and fair resolution.
- Provide coaching and support to leaders on managing ER matters effectively and proactively.
2. Employee Engagement, Culture & Employer Brand Support
- Support the HCBP in the execution of employee engagement surveys, pulse checks, and other feedback mechanisms.
- Assist in coordinating employee engagement activities, well-being programs, and recognition initiatives.
- Support the development and communication of initiatives aimed at enhancing the employer experience and strengthening the employer brand.
- Assist in the rollout of organizational culture change programs and support the embedding of desired values and behaviors.
3. Performance Management
- Support People Leaders with the implementation of the performance management process, including tracking performance improvement plans (PIPs).
- Assist in the performance appraisal cycle, ensuring timely completion and accurate documentation.
- Collaborate with the HCBP and COEs in the preparation of performance review analytics and reports.
4. Talent Management & Development Support
- Support the identification and tracking of training and development needs, partnering with COEs to coordinate learning interventions.
- Assist in supporting career pathing, succession planning, and talent mobility programs within assigned BUs.
5. Administration & Data Management
- Manage accurate case documentation for IR, ER, and performance matters.
- Generate reports and dashboards relating to employee relations, engagement, and talent activities.
- Support the utilization of the HRIS and case management systems to ensure data integrity.
6. Advisory Support to the Business
- Serve as a point of contact for People Leaders and employees, providing guidance on HC processes, policies, and programs.
- Provide operational advisory support to People Leaders on HR generalist matters in collaboration with the HCBO and HCBP.
7. Project Support
- Support the HCBP in delivering HC projects including policy rollouts, engagement campaigns, and organizational culture initiatives.
8. Other Duties
- Perform other duties as assigned by the HCBP or Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO).
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Industrial Relations, Business Management, or related field.
- Master’s degree in Human Resource Management, Industrial Relations, or Organizational Psychology would be an asset.
- Certification in Industrial Relations or Employment Law is desirable.
Experience
- At least 5 years’ experience in Human Capital Management with exposure to ER/IR case management, performance management, and employee engagement initiatives.
- Experience supporting engagement, culture, or employer brand programs would be advantageous.
