The incumbent is required to provide HR administrative support which includes assisting with benefits admin, recruitment, onboarding, disciplinary and grievance matters all whilst upholding the policies of the company

The Stewart's Automotive Group is seeking a qualified and diligent individual to fill the position of

Human Resources Associate

The incumbent will report to the Group Human Resources Manager and provide human resource development and administrative support to the HR Team and for the wider group of companies.

Some of the key duties of the position are as follows:

  • Preparing job letters and other correspondence for staff
  • Processing all leave applications and input information into spreadsheet
  • Liaising with department heads to ensure that staff take vacation leave, based on their entitlements.
  • Assisting with the ordering and distribution of uniforms.
  • Providing general administrative duties including preparing and typing correspondence, filing, scanning, emailing and faxing.
  • Calling and setting appointments for interviews with prospective candidates
  • Sending follow-up emails to persons being interviewed to advise them of interview details i.e. location, day, time, etc.
  • Organizing interview panels and sending supporting documentation prior to the interview for e.g. resumes, completed application and evaluation forms.
  • Calling references and completing Reference Check Forms
  • Assisting with organizing training and engagement activities
  • Preparing employment contracts and supporting documents
  • Answering staff queries regarding the policies and procedures of the company including Leave entitlements, disciplinary issues, etc
  • Distributing all documentation relating to health and life insurance, including health and benefit cards, life insurance statements, claim forms, Enrollment Forms, etc.
  • Liaising with Health and Life Insurance broker to garner information relating to staff queries or receiving Statement of Coverage for medical procedures
  • Assisting with on-boarding for new staff, including taking new recruits on tour of premises and generating welcome notices.
  • Enforcing the Policies and Procedures of the Stewarts Automotive Group in accordance with the Employee Handbook and HR Policy Manual, with strong focus on compliance issues.
  • Liaising with the Loss Prevention and Security department to provide information to conduct background checks and following up to ensure that background checks are completed in a timely manner.
Experience, Qualifications and competencies required:
* Professional certificate in Human Resource Management or equivalent
* A minimum of three years of experience working in a similar role
* Strong oral and written skills
* Strong attention to details
* Excellent interpersonal skills
* Excellent proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office i.e. Excel, Word and PowerPoint
* Knowledge of various HR software
