First point of contact for middle managers and supervisors on all HR matters specific to employee related issues, including recruitment and selection, and performance management in a sensitive yet effective manner.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Ensure the confidentiality of all employee data and sensitive company related information.
  • Execute and support manpower activities based on organisational needs – shortlist candidates, conduct interviews in collaboration with hiring manager, conduct reference checks, conduct orientation for and onboarding of new employees. 
  • Monitor and advise managers/supervisors on employee probation; ensure assessments are completed on time and employees are confirmed.
  • Enrol eligible employees onto the Group Benefits Plans.
  • Prepare Workmen’s Compensation documents and submit to the Broker for recording and processing purposes.
  • Provide consultation to management on employee relations issues and manage disciplinary issues within the company.  Conduct investigations and disciplinary hearings.
  • Ensure that employee relations matters are handled in a sensitive manner to eliminate any potential conflict between staff and management.
  • Support management of the employee performance management process, to include but not limited to, performance plan guidance and development, feedback process, and the final evaluation process.
  • Support in efficient service by developing, coordinating and enforcing systems, policies, procedures and productivity standards.
  • Support with Monthly HR Report and development of HR Metrics in-line with Best Practice.
  • Continuously review and update policies and procedures to reflect the culture of the organization.
  • Development and maintenance of job descriptions and performance standards for all positions in the company.
  • Ensure employee records are kept up-to-date through maintenance of a comprehensive manual and automated filing system.
  • Support company activities ensuring it meets with and integrates with organisational requirements, quality management and HSE legal stipulations.
  • Participate in Committees and Teams as may be required; e.g. HSE Committee, Events Committee, Personnel Development & Employee Engagement.
  • Manage employee engagement activities and events including communication to employees.
  • Undertake corporate assignments/projects including HRIS management as required.
  • Assist in other areas of work based on the needs of the department and any other area as necessary in support of Company activities.
  • All responsibilities and accountabilities must be executed in accordance with the company’s Customer Service Management System (CSMS), Quality, Health and Safety Environment (HSE) and Business Continuity Management System (BCMS) policies and practices.

Qualifications & Experience
  • BA Human Resource Management or a related Social Science.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in a Human Resource Environment
  • An acceptable combination of academic qualifications and work experience may be considered in lieu of minimum requirements.
Computer Skills
  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • Knowledge of HR Plus would be an asset
