The HR Officer has shared responsibility for ensuring the efficient and effective administration of all HR and ancillary services to staff members within the Company.

Job Summary:

The HR Officer has shared responsibility for ensuring the efficient and effective administration of all HR and ancillary services to staff members within the Company. The employee will work jointly with the Senior Officer to development, implement and administer HR services, programs, policies, procedures and guidelines.

 Responsibilities:

  • Processing of new and renewed employment contracts, promotions, transfers, separations, payroll changes, etc.
  • Management of the procurement and issuing of staff uniforms and safety gears
  • Assist with overseeing the receptionist and switchboard functions
  • End-to-end recruitment process for entry level staff
  • Act as liaison and advisor between Tastee Limited and employment agencies
  • Benefits management including but not limited to processing of all leave types
  • Assisting with annual and periodic performance reviews
  •  Completing Employee Relations functions, including assisting with disciplinary procedures, employment engagement etc.
  • Management of the HRIS Software
  • Act as liaison between staff, senior Management and Directors
  • Assist with coordinating training sessions
  • Provide HR advise and support to staff and Line Managers

Education, Experience and Competencies

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR Management &/or Development, Business Administration, or related discipline
  • Minimum of three (2) years’ working experience in Human Resource Management or in a similar capacity
  • In-depth knowledge and related experiences of the administration of HR principles and best practices
  • Working knowledge of Jamaican Labour Laws, including Employment & other IR principles and practices
  • In-depth knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety principles and practices
  • Competent in the use of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent administrative, organizational and time-management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal relations skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • High level of confidentiality and discretion, personal initiative and integrity
  • Good analytical skills and sound judgement
  • Results-oriented
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
