POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Human Resource Manager is a strategic leader responsible for driving organizational performance through effective people management, with a strong emphasis on Industrial Relations (IR). The role serves as the primary advisor to executive leadership and line management on employee relations, labour matters, and workforce strategy, ensuring the organization operates within a fair, compliant, and high-performing framework.

This position leads the resolution of complex workplace issues, including grievances, disciplinary actions, and disputes, while safeguarding the company against legal and reputational risk. The HR Manager is accountable for aligning HR strategies with business objectives, strengthening leadership capability, and fostering a culture of accountability, engagement, and operational excellence.

Additionally, the role oversees core HR functions including talent acquisition, performance management, compensation, and compliance while continuously improving policies, systems, and processes to support sustainable growth and organizational effectiveness.

SUMMARY OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Champion Industrial Relations by leading the full lifecycle of grievance handling, disciplinary actions, conflict resolution, and dispute mediation, ensuring outcomes are fair, consistent, and fully compliant with labour laws and company policy.

 

  • Provide expert advisory support to management and department leaders on employee relations, performance management, workforce planning, and team dynamics, enabling informed decision-making and effective people management.

 

  • Drive and execute strategic HR initiatives that directly align with organizational objectives, strengthening workforce capability and enhancing overall business performance.

 

  • Direct and govern all employment-related legal matters, including dismissals, disciplinary procedures, and complex employee cases, ensuring strict legal compliance while proactively mitigating organizational risk.

 

  • Oversee end-to-end talent management processes, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, compensation, and succession planning, to attract, develop, and retain high-performing employees.

 

  • Design and implement impactful talent development, employee engagement, and leadership programs that build capability, improve retention, and support long-term organizational growth.

 

  • Evaluate and enhance HR policies, procedures, and systems to drive operational efficiency, ensure compliance, and support a high-performance culture.

 

  • Administer and safeguard accurate employee records while ensuring full adherence to all statutory, regulatory, and audit requirements.

 

  • Track and analyze HR trends, labour legislation, and industry best practices to ensure the organization remains compliant, competitive, and forward-looking.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

Education/Training: An Undergraduate degree in Human Resource Management, Psychology, Business Management, or a related field. Postgraduate qualifications in Human Resource Management is a distinct asset.

Experience: A minimum of 8 years progressive Human Resource Generalist experience plus 2 years of experience in a Senior HR Management role, with a strong focus on industrial relations, employee relations, and legal matters related to human resources.

Certificates and Licenses:  Certification in Industrial Relations. The possession of a valid driver’s license is required.
