Head of Maintenance & Inventory Operations
In this critical role, the incumbent will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance and quality repair of the company’s diverse fleet of vehicles, ensuring their safety and reliability at all times. The incumbent will also have oversight responsibility for the company’s Inventory Department to ensure alignment between the Maintenance Unit and the supply of auto parts and supplies from the Inventory Department.
Key Responsibilities:
· Provide leadership to a team of Maintenance and Inventory Managers across multiple locations, throughout the organization, primarily the key operations in Kingston and Montego Bay.
· Effectively oversee the quality repairs and servicing of vehicles within stipulated standards and timeline.
· Develop and enforce standardized maintenance and safety procedures.
· Implement effective inventory control systems to reduce waste and minimize downtime.
· Identify and source quality parts locally and internationally to support a growing fleet.
· Ensure timely repairs and preventative maintenance for optimal vehicle performance.
· Implement systems and initiatives to drive process improvements and cost-efficiency across multiple locations.
· Build, train, and mentor high-performing teams.
· Engage and partner with vocational institutions for staff certification and development.
· Prepare performance reports and contribute to strategic planning.
· Partner with the Human Resources Department to proactively identify, recruit, and onboard both technical and non-technical talent essential to the seamless operation and strategic growth of the Maintenance and Inventory Departments.
Qualifications & Skills:
· Bachelor’s degree in Automotive Technology, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field; postgraduate qualifications in a related field would be preferred.
· 7–10 years of progressive automotive maintenance and inventory management experience, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
· Strong knowledge of vehicle systems and fleet management.
· Proven ability to lead teams, manage budgets, and optimize operational processes.
· Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office and maintenance and inventory management systems.
· Valid General Driver’s Licence with a clean driving record.
Additional Requirements:
· Willingness to travel weekly to various company locations, including the flexibility to spend several consecutive days at a specific site when operational needs require.
· Strong customer service orientation and a high level of integrity.
