The incumbent is required to provide excellent customer service to our automotive service customers. This includes booking vehicles into the workshop and liaising with technical staff.

A dynamic group of companies within the automotive industry is seeking a competent, hard working individual, with an excellent work ethic, to fill the position of:                                

                       AUTOMOTIVE SERVICE ADVISOR

 The key duties of this position are as follows:

  • Booking vehicles into the workshop, considering workshop utilization targets, job complexity and availability of parts and materials.
  • Liaising with Workshop Team Leaders to obtain Estimates and schedule work on vehicles.
  • Providing a warm welcome to customers and asking questions to build rapport and to understand the customer’s requirements, especially in distress situations.
  • Agreeing on vehicle delivery/collection or courtesy car arrangements and completing all required checks before handing over car/loaner vehicle to customer.
  • Verifying payment method(s) prior to work commencing.
  • Ensuring that all work is carried out as specified and the customer is charged accordingly.
  • Communicating regularly with customers to provide updates on workshop progress, discussing and agreeing any additional spend and managing expectations regarding costs and timing.
  • Keeping records of warranty work in accordance with manufacturer and dealership requirements.
  • Seeking opportunities to sell additional products, services, and repair work

The ideal candidate would possess the following:

  • A track-record of success in customer service.
  • A minimum of two years' experience in a similar capacity
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Good knowledge of motor vehicle mechanics and associated technology.
  • A minimum of five CXC’s, including Math and English, at a Level 2.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • A General Driver’s License, with a clean driving record.
  • A professional certification in Automotive Mechanics, would be an asset (for e.g. Level 3 JAGAS certification)
