As part of SMS, the Software Studio is our digital products and services division, responsible for building, scaling, and commercialising innovative digital solutions. Its portfolio includes SmartLabs (custom Agile development squads) and the Smart Digital Suite of SaaS products such as SmartMedOps, SmartSend, SmartHR, DaaS, and 4-Play, as well as PMO and TWFS services.

The Head of Commercial Product Management (CPM) is a senior leadership role responsible for driving the commercial enablement and growth of the Software Studio portfolio.

The CPM defines pricing, licensing, and monetisation strategies; governs bid processes; and ensures market-ready solutions across all profit centres. The role provides unified commercial leadership across Custom Development, Digital Platforms, Managed Services & Partnerships, and Workforce Solutions, enabling consistent execution of growth initiatives in B2B enterprise and mid-market segments in Jamaica and the wider Caribbean.

Reporting Line

  • Reports to: General Manager, Software Studio
  • Direct Reports:
    • Bid Management Lead
    • Pricing & Contracts Specialist
    • Commercial Analysts (1–2 roles initially, scaling with growth)
    • Collaborates With: Business Development, Sales, Delivery/PMO, Finance, Legal, Technology/Product teams, and regional alliance partners

What you’ll do

Commercial Strategy & Enablement

  • Define and implement monetisation, pricing, and licensing frameworks for enterprise and mid-market clients.
  • Develop commercial playbooks, rate cards, and tools to enable Sales, BD, and Delivery to scale effectively.
  • Hold authority for final approval of pricing frameworks and commercial models.

Market Development

  • Identify and analyse B2B ICT opportunities in Jamaica and the wider Caribbean.
  • Translate market insights into actionable go-to-market strategies targeting enterprise, mid- market, and government/public sector opportunities.
  • Guide regional partnership and alliance models to accelerate market entry.

Bid Management & Governance

  • Lead commercial oversight of bids across all profit centres, including go/no-go decision- making.
  • Ensure disciplined application of pricing, compliance, and profitability standards.
  • Drive pipeline governance and enforce strategic prioritisation of opportunities.

Cross-Profit Centre Growth Enablement

  • Implement commercial frameworks that support revenue growth across all business lines.
  • Provide commercial direction and discipline for Custom Development, Managed Services, Workforce Solutions, and Digital Platforms.

Portfolio Readiness & Product–Market Fit

  • Lead the product ownership function while also providing hands-on execution in product ideation, backlog prioritisation, and MVP launches
  • Ensure all offerings achieve commercial readiness and meet capitalisation standards under IFRS-38.

Partnerships & Channels

  • Establish and manage alliances, distribution models, and reseller agreements to extend reach.
  • Negotiate and structure partner terms that strengthen long-term commercial value.

Performance & Financial Metrics

  • Achieve sustained growth in enterprise and mid-market client acquisition.
  • Strengthen client retention and long-term relationships.
  • Deliver strong financial performance with healthy gross and net margins.
  • Ensure all offerings are monetised and capitalised in alignment with IFRS-38 and organisational growth objectives.

 

What we’re looking for:

Experience

  • 7–10 years in ICT, SaaS, telecoms, or digital transformation with proven experience in B2B enterprise and mid-market commercialisation.
  • Demonstrated success in portfolio monetisation, pricing strategy, and growth execution

Skills

  • Expertise in commercial frameworks — pricing, licensing, monetisation, channel models.
  • Financial acumen including margin management, P&L oversight, and IFRS-38 application.
  • Strong bid leadership, with proven ability to lead enterprise/government tenders.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage direct reports.

Education & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, or ICT required.
  • MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification preferred.
  • Professional certifications in Agile/Scrum, Project Management, or Commercial Contracts are an advantage.
