HEAD – FINANCE & CORPORATE SERVICES

The Trinidad and Tobago Trade and Investment Promotion Agency Limited (Global Trinidad and Tobago) is currently seeking qualified nationals to fill the position of Head – Finance & Corporate Services. The Head of Finance & Corporate Services is responsible for overseeing the investment, financial performance and corporate services portfolio of the Agency and for ensuring that internal controls are in place to maintain financial viability, efficient corporate services to support work plan implementation and that systems are effective and efficient to meet financial goals. Work involves overseeing the formulation of accounting-based policies, participating in strategic planning for the organisation, staff development, providing technical advice and performing strategic, technical and administrative work related to finance and corporate services.

 Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and execute strategic corporate plans, goals, and initiatives
• Formulate and manage five-year business plans and operational budgets
• Direct all financial reporting, record-keeping, and the preparation of financial statements
• Oversee the agency's investment portfolio and overall financial performance
• Ensure robust internal controls are in place to maintain the agency's financial integrity
• Manage and lead the Finance & Accounting and Facilities Management teams
• Oversee facilities management, ensuring all sites comply with statutory and OSHA standards
• Organize and prepare for Audit and Finance Committee meetings
• Coordinate relationships with the Board of Directors, corporate investors, and external stakeholders
• Monitor capital expenditure and control divisional spending
• Provide coaching, guidance, and performance management for direct reports
• Review and recommend operational policy amendments for CEO approval
• Manage the administration function to ensure organizational efficiency

 Qualifications and Experience

• Chartered/Certified Accountant (Attainment of a professional accounting qualification, namely ACCA, CMA or CIMA)
• Master’s degree in Management, Finance, Business Administration or related field will be considered an asset OR

            Any equivalent combination of experience and training

• 7-8 years’ extensive experience in financial management with at least three (3) years’ post- qualification accounting experience at the management level OR
• Thorough demonstrated proficiency in managerial experience and responsibility for established Companies (private or public sector)

 Knowledge, Skills and Abilities 

• Proficiency in the application of International Financial Reporting Standards
• Ability to prepare financial statements and reports
• Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite and accounting software
• Experience in the use of payroll software and reports
• Knowledge of relevant legislation
• Ability to develop and implement policies and procedures
• Demonstrated ability to lead effectively under time constraints and meet deadlines
• A proven track record of integrity, adherence to good corporate governance principles and best practices
• High level of written and oral communication skills
