The Human Resources Officer is a generalist responsible for providing HR management support to the Human Resources Manager and engaging with staff across various human resource functions.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP

Reports to Human Resources Manager

GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY

The Human Resources Officer plays a key role in supporting the Human Resources Manager by delivering comprehensive HR services across the organization. This position is responsible for assisting in the implementation and coordination of a wide range of human resources functions, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, benefits administration, and staff engagement. The role also serves as a point of contact for employees, helping to ensure consistent application of HR policies and promoting a positive workplace culture.

SPECIFIC DUTIES

  • Assist in managing and executing all recruitment and selection activities, including job postings, screening, interviews, and conducting credit, reference, and background checks.
  • Prepare summary sheets for payroll processing.
  • Assist in conducting staff orientations.
  • Prepare supporting documentation for monthly payroll adjustments.
  • Update and audit the HR information system to ensure the accuracy of employee data.
  • Maintain and update data on staff changes (e.g., promotions, transfers, terminations).
  • Provide guidance to management in developing job descriptions and ensure that signed job descriptions are in place for all roles.
  • Monitor the Performance Improvement Plan (PIP) process and ensure compliance.
  • Support the development and execution of HR plans, staff welfare initiatives, and engagement projects.
  • Administer employee benefits, including pension, health, and life insurance.
  • Promote and monitor the Rewards and Recognition Programme.
  • Track the submission of Performance Appraisals for all employees.
  • Advise management and staff on compensation and benefits matters.
  • Provide guidance and recommendations on labour law related issues.
  • Prepare monthly HR reports, including updates on staff changes, HR metrics, recruitment, engagement initiatives, training, and development.
  • Assist in the preparation of the annual Training Needs Analysis and the Annual Training Plan.
  • Monitor the implementation of employee coaching and development programmes.
  • Improve the efficiency and effectiveness of reporting and information systems within the HR Department.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field
  • Three to five years of experience in a similar HR role
  • Proficiency in HRplus and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Specialized training in employment law, compensation, employee relations, and employee learning and development
  • General knowledge of HR best practices
  • Data protection training
