The Health Safety Environment and Facilities (HSEF) Coordinator is responsible for performing all Health, Safety, Environment and Facilities functions as it relates to ANSA Polymer

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Responds to Facility, Pest control, Cleaning, Sanitation. Sanitization and Wastes Disposal issue raised by other departments within ANSA Polymer. Implementation of corrective action must be completed in a timely manner.
  2. Verifies that all Pest control, Cleaning, Sanitation, Sanitization and Wastes Disposal activities are completed as per schedule.
  3. Manages all Facilities related projects – e.g. Development of Scope of Works/ Development of CAPEX documents/supervision of contractors during projects.
  4. Ensure that all high priority facilities projects are completed in a timely manner so as to reduce impact to business continuity.
  5. Ensures the generation of Pest Control reports by Pest Contractors as required
  6. Manages the issuance of material/equipment/consumables related to Facilities and HSE activities as required.
  7. Responsible for the safeguarding of assigned equipment and tools
  8. Establish and maintain a core team of contractors in different disciplines to facilitate timely repairs.
  9. Assist in the development, implementation and maintenance of ANSA Polymer’s HSE Management System and perform a function of a coordinator for the implementation and maintenance of the HSE Management Systems ensuring compliance with Group objectives and expectations.
  10. Ensures continuous performance improvement in regard to HSE Management Systems, Policies and Procedures.
  11. Responsible for the accurate tracking, monitoring, verification and reporting of all HSE and Facilities related metrics and statistics in accordance with agreed requirements and deadlines.
  12. Reviews/updates all HSE policies as required.
  13. Provides Management with recommendations and guidance regarding HSE Management Systems, Policies and Procedures with specific focus on impact on operational activities.
  14. Conducts/Reviews risk assessments for all facilities and operations conducted in ANSA Polymer.
  15. Participates and chairs General Safety Meetings, Safety Committee Meetings and Risk Assessment Processes e.g. toolbox meetings, JSA.
  16. Conducts/coordinates all HSE related training with user departments as per training matrix.
  17. Coordinates the investigation and close-out of all HSE incidents/accidents/issues as required.
  18. Manages Covid-19 related cases/response as required.
  19. Coordinates all items related to regulators (HSE) such as OSHA, the EMA and the TTFS.
  20. Verifies the progress of remedial actions for all non-compliance/non-conformances related to HSE and Facilities.
  21. Performs daily/weekly/monthly/audits of ANSA Polymer’s facilities – HSE, Covid-19, General Facility, Housekeeping. ISO 9001 etc. as required.
  22. Establish and maintain service contracts for all systems that the HSEF Coordinator is responsible for.
  23. Conduct any other related duties that may be assigned by the HSSEF Manager.

 PERSON SPECIFICATION

 Minimum Education and Qualifications

  1. Degree in Environmental Sciences (or similar field) or NEBOSH Certification.
  2. Diploma facilities management or field experience in facilities management and HSE.

Experience

  1. At least five (5) years’ experience in HSE/Facilities Management, preferably within the manufacturing environment.
  2. Facilities management experience in a food manufacturing environment would be an assets.
  3. Certification/Training in food safety standards such as FSSC; 22000 and ISO; 9001 would be an asset.
  4.  Internal audit training would be an asset.

 

Or any equivalent combination of qualification and experience

 

Competencies

  1. Must be computer literate Microsoft Office word excel etcetera
  2. Ability to work with minimum supervision.
  3. Ability to provide supervision to contractors.
  4. Ability to function as part of a multi disciplined team.
  5. Excellent time management, planning and organization skills.
  6. Strong interpersonal, communication and organization skills
  7. Ability to utilize AutoCAD would be an asset.

 

Other

  1. Required to sit for long periods in front of a computer screen.
  2. Bending may be required.
  3. Be able to lift up to 15 lbs.
  4. Required to work after normal hours when necessary.
