The HSE Coordinator is responsible for TATIL Head Office and (7) Branches to ensure the risk and risk exposures through the monitoring and enforcement of the HSE Group Manual and Occupational Safety and Health Act 2016.

Job Summary:

The HSE Coordinator is responsible for Tatil Head Office and (7) Branches to ensure the risk and risk exposures through the monitoring and enforcement of the HSE Group Manual and Occupational Safety and Health Act 2016.

 

 

Job Description:

  • Ensuring compliance to our HSE Group Manual and Occupational Safety and Health Act, Company Policies and Procedures and other statutory requirements.
  • Existing procedures and policies must be updated regularly and new ones developed based on changes to the workflow and environment.
  • All Forms and Reports from the HSE Group Manual must be completed and appropriately filed. This will be requested from Auditors for Audits completed annually.
  • Ensure all risks associated with emergency situations are identified and contingencies are developed and enforced to minimize negative outcomes of such. Updates and roll out to all Staff on:
  • Emergency Response Plans – site specific
  • HSE Policy
  • Manage, Control and Review Annual Risk Assessments for all TATIL / Tatil Life Head Office and (7) Branches to ensure OSHA Compliance. Ensuring all Corrective Action Logs are recorded and completed within time frames. Active follow up to ensure closure of items.
  • Manage, Monitor, Complete and Review all site audits and inspections on a monthly basis. Ensure all reports and actions are communicated to the relevant individuals to assist and achieve continual improvement. For each location some items include:
  • Follow up and closure of all Facility related projects/ pending matters.
  • Primary and Secondary muster points are present.
  • Exit routes are clear of obstructions.
  • Concerns regarding furniture addressed.
  • Drills – Schedule completed to detail drills to be conducted at Head Office and (7) Branches. Completion of Drill Report.
  • Ensure all equipment in Tatil Building have updated certificates/ inspection stickers, routine maintenance conducted and schedules completed for maintenance, inspection and testing. This also includes:
  • Fire Protection Systems – Fire extinguishers, hose reels, dry riser.
  • Fire Detection – Service contract in place for routine service of system, cleaning of smoke detectors, service of pull stations and ensuring adequate training of onsite personnel to treat with an emergency.
  • Lifting Equipment – (3) passenger and (1) service elevator, ensure service contract in place for routine service.
  • Generators and Diesel tanks – legal certifications as well as all non-compliances to be addressed e.g. refueling, signage etc.
  • First Aid kits – ensuring use of supplies are logged, tracked and replaced in a timely manner.
  • Accident and Injury Reporting
  • Carry out and coordinate individual incident/accident root cause and/or manage the incident investigation, reports and reporting system.
  • Medical arrangements with Company Doctor.
  • Provide all HSE data and statistics in relation to Tatil locations and provide input to Company and Group performance indicators.
  • Schedule Health and Safety Committee meetings monthly. Ensure completion and distribution of minutes.
  • Liaise with other Company HSE professionals to achieve and encourage best practice.
  • Determine Training Needs, Preparation, Co-ordination and Completion of internal training for potential hazards for employees.
  • Delivery of training interventions/materials, orientation to employees/contractors/visitors, and the provision of advice to management, staff and contractors relevant to industry best practices, and contributes to building a strong HSE culture. This includes:
  • Accident and Injury Reporting – prevent someone being injured.
  • Toolbox talks to be conducted monthly via Managers meetings.
  • Monthly HSE bulletins to be developed and emailed to all Staff.
  • First Aid Training with all First Aiders conducted
  • every (2) years. Ensure certificates are maintained on file and copies distributed to employees, flyers to be updated and posted on notice boards and updates sent to all Staff advising of new persons trained.
  • Fire Captains and Wardens – Annual training conducted.
  • Emergency response training – conducted annually.
  • Ensure that visiting Contractors adhere to safe work practices by conducting \”Toolbox Talks\” to reinforce best practice.
  • Coordinate and conduct regular Evacuation Drills for the occupants of the TATIL Building located at Maraval Road. To also include drills for all TATIL / Tatil Life Branches. To provide post-evacuation reports to ensure continuous improvement.
  • All Forms and Reports must be completed as per HSE Group Manual.

 

 

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Health & Safety or any of its related field
  • Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in Health, Safety and Environment.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
