HR/Payroll Assistant
OBJECTIVE OF THE POSITION:
To assist the HR team in maintaining accuracy with all payroll issues/queries. Properly execute all human resource functions and keeping employees motivated to achieve the organization’s strategic objectives.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Processing payroll, which includes ensuring vacation and sick time are tracked in the system
• Answering payroll questions and facilitating resolutions to any payroll errors
• Updating and maintaining employee benefits, employment status, and similar records
• Performing file audits to ensure that all required employee documentation is collected and maintained
• Performing payroll/benefit-related reconciliations
• Participating in recruitment efforts
• Scheduling job interviews and assisting in interview process
• Collecting employment information
• Ensuring background and reference checks are completed
• Overseeing the completion of compensation and benefit documentation
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
• Knowledge of Jamaican Labour Laws
• Payroll Administration skills
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office
• Good problem solving and analytical skills
• Excellent Administrative, writing Skills
• Excellent interpersonal & communication skills
• Ability to work under pressure
MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS AND EXPERIENCE:
BSc in HR, Business Administration or equivalent. At least 2 years of relevant experience, or acceptable combination of education and experience.
