Human Resources Manager

 

A dynamic, expanding Group of Engineering & Construction related Companies in the Region (Employer Confidential) is seeking to recruit a driven, digitally competent, senior HR professional to strategically guide us through successful execution of this exciting growth phase. The incumbent will be responsible for overseeing all HR functions to promote the strategic growth and sustainability of the Group and its subsidiaries, while ensuring legal compliance and providing support to our employees.

 

The incumbent must possess exceptional leadership, communication and people management skills; the ability to develop and execute HR strategies and plans; and the skill to influence at all levels to achieve the Group’s long-term strategy and goals.

 

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with executive leadership to define the Group’s long-term strategy and goals; identify ways to support the strategy and goals through talent management.
  • Plan, lead, develop, coordinate, and implement policies, processes, training, initiatives, and surveys that effectively communicate and support the achievement of the Group’s overall business objectives.
  • Administer or oversee the administration of human resource programmes including, but not limited to, recruitment, performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; compensation, benefits, and leave; succession planning; and training and development; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; occupational health and safety;
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with all relevant employment laws and regulations and recommended best practices; review and modify policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law; apply this knowledge to communicate changes in policy, practice, and resources to executive and management team.

VP Corporate Services

 

Education & Knowledge

  • Accredited Bachelor’s Degree Human Resource Management or related field;
  • Accredited Master’s Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration/ Management or related field;
  • In depth knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation, standards and regulations, both new and existing;

 

 

Experience

  • At least 10 years of work experience in the field of Human Resources, with at least 3 years as an HR Operations Manager, HR Manager or similar leadership role;
  • Proven experience and competence in:

-        designing compensation and benefits packages

-        designing and administering performance management systems, inclusive of KPIs

-        HR reporting and analytics

-        developing and applying HR policies and procedures in compliance with relevant regulations, standards and legislation

-        Human Resource Information System (HRIS) solutions and other HR automation tools

-        MS Office applications

  • Experience in and/or knowledge of relevant policies, procedures and legislation throughout the Caribbean, in particular, Jamaica, Barbados and Guyana, is a valuable asset.
  • Experience as an HR professional in the construction, engineering or property development environment is a valuable asset.

Other Requirements

  • Must be able to travel to each of the organisation’s sub-offices and project sites, both local and overseas.
  • Must possess a valid passport and be able to travel overseas.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and have access to personal vehicle.
