Continental Baking Company Limited is seeking to recruit a Human Resources Administrator who will provide comprehensive HR support to assigned business units.

He/she will be responsible for assisting with the maintenance of the Company’s Human Resource Management System (HRMS), managing employee records and executing all core HR processes and administrative functions across the employment lifecycle. The role supports the HR Department by ensuring the efficient and effective execution of departmental operations and processes as well as providing accurate and targeted metrics to facilitate strategic human capital decisions.

Core Functions

HR Support to Business Units

  • Provide reliable HR support to assigned business units, ensuring quick and accurate resolution of HR matters.
  • Provide guidance to business leaders and employees, founded on sound HR knowledge, best practices and the Jamaica’s Labour Laws.
  • Contract Administration: administer and prepare employment contracts for assigned business units. 

HRMS Support and Administration

  • Assist with the maintenance and updating of the HRMS, ensuring that the information is accurate, accessible and in compliance with data management standards.
  • Ensure all employee records, personnel files, contracts and HR documents are properly maintained and kept up to date.

Talent Management

  • Assist with recruitment for non-managerial positions, including job postings, screening, interview coordination and associated documentation.
  • Execute onboarding activities for new employees, ensuring a seamless and professional orientation process.
  • Create and maintain a robust and current recruitment and onboarding system.
  • Execute offboarding and separation procedures to ensure compliance and alignment within departmental and Company guidelines.

Employee Relations and Benefits Administration

  • Assist with addressing and processing operational HR queries and direct employees to appropriate HR resources and tools.
  • Assist with the execution of employee relations matters and disciplinary procedures in accordance with the Jamaica’s Labour Laws and Company policies.
  • Assist with HR initiatives, programmes and activities aimed at improving employee engagement and productivity.
  • Assist with the administration of the employee benefits portfolio, to include but not limited to payroll, insurance and other perquisites.

Performance Management, People Development & HR Metrics

  • Support performance management activities through data management, process coordination and maintenance of the corresponding framework and evaluation systems, which acts as a bridge between the employee and the organizational goals.
  • Provide general support for training sessions, staff engagement activities, job fairs and assist with the preparation of internal communications.
  • Assist in the preparation of HR reports, data analysis and presentations; generate applicable HR metrics to assist with human capital management and business decisions.  

Minimum Requirements: Education, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Information Systems or a related field. Certification in Human Resource Management would be an asset.
  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in human resource management, preferably in a generalist role. Experience within the manufacturing or retail industry would be an asset.
  • Solid understanding of human resource processes/best practices and Jamaican Labour Laws.
  • Expert knowledge in human resource management systems and platforms.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, with strong emphasis on Excel and Word.
  • Excellent human relations, communication, time management, organizational, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Possesses an attitude of service and a continuous learning mindset.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Highly professional, ethical and of integrity.
  • May be required to work on weekends and public holidays, to meet operational demands.
