The role will oversee consolidated financial reporting, group accounting policies, budgeting, forecasting, internal controls, tax structuring and statutory compliance across all entities within the Group.
The Group Financial Controller will play a critical leadership role in supporting the Group CFO, ensuring the business maintains strong financial governance, delivers accurate and timely financial insights, and continues to build scalable finance processes that support Carib LPG’s growth trajectory across multiple business lines and jurisdictions.
As the Carib LPG Group continues to expand geographically and operationally, the finance function must evolve to meet increasing complexity, regulatory requirements, and commercial demands. This role will be central to driving improved capability, process optimisation, systems integration, and high‑quality financial reporting across the organisation. A proactive approach, strong technical expertise, and a commitment to operational excellence will be essential.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES / ACTIVITIES
- Lead the Group’s financial reporting function, ensuring complete, accurate, and timely consolidation of results across all business units and subsidiaries.
- Maintain oversight of all monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards (IFRS).
- Develop and enhance the Group’s budgeting and forecasting processes, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and commercial realities.
- Oversee statutory reporting obligations across multiple jurisdictions, including audit coordination, tax compliance, and regulatory filings.
- Coordinate tax reviews with external consultants to support group tax planning.
- Strengthen and maintain a robust internal control environment, drafting policies as needed and ensuring appropriate governance frameworks, risk mitigation processes, and financial policies are consistently applied.
- Support treasury activities if required, including cashflow forecasting, liquidity planning, banking relationships, and monitoring of debt covenant compliance.
- Partner with senior leadership to provide meaningful financial analysis, management information (MI), and insights that support commercial decision‑
- Support financial due diligence, integration activities, and financial readiness assessments for new business initiatives, joint ventures, and acquisitions.
- Support strategy development through scenario modelling, capital allocation analysis, and financial risk assessments.
- Drive standardisation and optimisation of finance processes, reporting cycles, and systems across the Group.
- Lead the implementation, enhancement, and integration of key finance systems including ERP, ETRM, VMS, and data‑warehouse platforms in collaboration with the group’s IT resources.
- Provide leadership, coaching, and development to the accounts team, fostering a high‑performance culture and building future capability.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, external regulations, and mandated financial controls.
- Any other duties within the broad scope of financial management, reporting, and governance as required by the business.
QUALIFICATIONS / ATTRIBUTES
- Qualified accountant (ACCA, CPA, CA, ACA, or equivalent) with 7–10+ years of senior finance experience, ideally within energy, shipping, commodities, or LPG/petrochemicals sectors.
- Strong technical accounting expertise with deep familiarity in IFRS and consolidated group reporting.
- Proven experience in leading accounting teams and managing multi‑entity or multi‑jurisdictional financial operations.
- Experience with ERP, financial reporting, and trading systems; exposure to ETRM and VMS environments an advantage.
- Demonstrated ability to influence, gain trust, and build strong working relationships with senior leadership and operational teams.
- Highly analytical with the ability to grasp business complexities, identify financial risks, and provide clear, commercially‑focused recommendations.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
- Results‑oriented with a track record of delivering high‑quality work under tight deadlines.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities across operational and strategic finance initiatives.
- Experience in capital projects, financial modelling, and business case evaluation would be an advantage.
- Familiarity with treasury, cash management, and corporate financing structures preferred.
