The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the company’s financial operations, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, and providing strategic financial guidance to support business growth and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Accounting Department to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with company policies and procedures
  • Oversee all financial accounting functions, including general ledger management, reconciliations, and preparation of monthly and annual financial statements
  • Prepare and present timely financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports
  • Lead the budgeting and forecasting process, including variance analysis and performance tracking
  • Monitor and control organizational budgets to ensure prudent financial management
  • Oversee inventory management, including stock valuation, reconciliation, and internal controls
  • Establish and maintain effective internal control systems to safeguard company assets
  • Conduct and manage internal audits and ensure adherence to company policies and regulatory standards
  • Coordinate and oversee the external audit process, including liaising with auditors and ensuring timely completion of audit deliverables
  • Ensure full compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements, including tax filings and other obligations in Jamaica
  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior management and the Board to support strategic decision-making
  • Monitor cash flow and maintain strong relationships with financial institutions
  • Identify and implement improvements in financial processes and reporting systems

 Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
  • Professional certification (ACCA, CPA, or equivalent) would be an asset
  • Minimum of 5–7 years’ experience in a senior accounting or financial management role
  • Strong working knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, auditing, and inventory management
  • Familiarity with Jamaican tax regulations and statutory requirements is required
