General Accountant

Primarily responsible for the posting of source entries to the ERP application. Analysing the P&L and balance sheet accounts. Reconciliation of intercompany accounts. Preparation and posting of journals as required

We have an immediate opening for an experienced General Accountant at our Corporate Office, Freeport, Montego Bay.

 General Duties and Responsibilities

Ø  Primarily responsible for the posting of source entries to the ERP application.

• Analysing the P&L and balance sheet accounts.
• Reconciliation of intercompany accounts.
• Preparation and posting of journals as required.
• Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly management reports.
• Monthly sub-ledger and general ledger reconciliations.

  Education, Experience, and Other Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting, ACCA level 2, or equivalent accounting designation.
• Excellent computer skills; experience in accounting software, Microsoft Office Suite, and a high level of comfort with Microsoft Excel required.
• Knowledge of accounting best practices, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), and general accounting concepts.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, accurate and precise attention to detail.
• Ability to multitask, prioritise, and manage time efficiently while maintaining the confidentiality of information and local ethics.
• Excellent and flexible team player.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar position.
• Experience with sub-ledger posting for accounts payable and accounts receivable will be an asset.
