Job description:

 

 

Job Title: GNOC Engineer Bilingual

 

 

Primary objective of the job: 

 

As a GNOC Engineer (Bilingual), you will perform surveillance and diagnostics on all Digicel CALA networks, acting as first line of defense against any operational or performance issue on the network.

           

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

·       Monitor the network and other related platforms to proactively identify issues, resolve same and or escalate if needed

·       Maintain Service Level Agreement (SLA) to achieve 99.99 network availability

·       Perform surveillance and proactive maintenance to prevent undue network outages

·       Inform the business, stakeholders and peers about network performance and service availability by way of an established means of communication

·       Maintains quality of service by enforcing quality and industry standards, analyzing and resolving network quality and customer service problems

 

Academic Qualifications and Experience Required:

·       Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronics/Telecommunication/IT Engineering

·       A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in telecom industry, in Network Operation Management environment

·       CCNA certification would be an asset

·       Spanish required as a second language 

 

Functional Skills:

·       Must understand the concepts of Incident, Problem and Change Management in a telecom environment and their associated OLA’s and SLA’s

·       Thorough understanding of how different teams in telecom operations interact with each other

·       Must be willing to work in rotating morning, evening and night shifts

·       Must be proficient in all ticketing and network management or performance tools

·       Must be proficient in Microsoft Office

·       Fluent in English language, both oral and written

·       Must be a team player

·       Willing to work under pressure, in a fast paced and challenging environment
