Forklift Operators - Montego Bay, St. James
The Forklift Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of forklift equipment and the accurate picking, storage, and delivery of goods. This role plays a critical part in supporting warehouse operations, ensuring timely order fulfillment, maintaining safety standards, and delivering a high level of service to customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate forklift equipment daily in a safe, professional, and efficient manner
- Accurately select, pick, load, store, and deliver goods in accordance with delivery invoices
- Collect daily delivery invoices from the dispatcher and execute assigned tasks accordingly
- Support senior personnel in maintaining a safe, organized, and well-maintained warehouse environment in line with best practices
- Assist in minimizing equipment damage and reducing the risk of injury to personnel, goods, and property
- Provide daily support to Warehouse Attendants to ensure timely and accurate delivery of goods to customers
- Conduct routine checks of forklift equipment and report any faults or safety concerns promptly
- Handle all company matters in an ethical, professional, and confidential manner
- Perform any other related duties as assigned by management
Qualifications & Skills
- Minimum of two (2) years’ experience operating forklift or similar warehouse equipment
- Valid forklift operator certification issued within the last three (3) years
- Confident, energetic, and self-motivated with a strong customer service focus
- Ability to use initiative and exercise sound judgment
- Strong teamwork skills with flexibility to work varying hours and days, including Saturdays
- Ability to work accurately under pressure in a fast-paced environment
