Sagicor Bank Jamaica Limited is seeking a suitable candidate to join our Treasury team in the capacity of:

 Foreign Exchange Trader   

Engage in the buying and selling of approved foreign currencies to achieve the established targets.

Assist with setting and disseminating foreign exchange rates to the branch network on a daily basis.

Deploy foreign exchange strategies as outlined by the Treasurer.

Location: Kingston

As a Foreign Exchange Trader, you will:

• Assist with maintaining foreign exchange client relationships and growing foreign exchange client base.
• Contact clients to negotiate buy/sell foreign exchange transactions.
• Ensure that all transactions negotiated on the foreign exchange desk are settled within 2 hours.
• Assist with updating the foreign exchange rates on the website.
• Respond to client correspondence and queries both internal and external.
• Prepare daily and monthly reports as requested by Treasurer.
• Assist with approving foreign exchange trades.
• Assist with organizing client meetings each month in conjunction with the Treasurer.
• Provide support/relief in the absence of other members of the team.
• Perform other job-related duties assigned from time to time.

What do you need?

• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or a related area from a recognized tertiary institution.
• Minimum of two (2) years commercial banking experience in a treasury or trading environment.
• Sound knowledge of computer software packages including spreadsheet and word processing applications
• Good negotiating skills.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Working knowledge of the local and international markets.
• Able to make sound decisions and meet deadlines in dynamic and fast paced environment.
• Composed working under pressure, handling the ambiguity of competing deadlines.
