Job Summary:

 

The Food & Beverage Trainer is responsible for designing, coordinating, and delivering technical and operational training programs for F&B staff, ensuring alignment with Blue Diamond Resorts’ standards. The role focuses on elevating service quality, enhancing consistency in operations, and contributing to the professional development of the team to create exceptional guest experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

 

1. Training & Development:

  • Design and deliver training programs for new hires and existing staff to improve technical and soft skills.
  • Organize the Epic Talent Academy 3–4 times annually, focusing on operational and service excellence.
  • Develop content that blends theory and practical activities, simulating real-life service scenarios.
  • Conduct on-the-job training for new hires to ensure seamless integration into the operational environment.

 

2. Reinforcement of Operational Standards:

  • Conduct regular refresher courses to maintain consistency in service and operational procedures.
  • Identify areas for improvement in collaboration with the Quality and F&B teams.
  • Measure training effectiveness through audits, performance evaluations, and feedback.

 

3. Supervision & Evaluation:

  • Monitor employee performance during training and provide constructive feedback.
  • Apply evaluation tools to assess learning outcomes and track progress.
  • Recommend corrective actions for underperforming staff.

 

4. Compliance & Safety:

Ensure that all training programs comply with health, safety, and hygiene regulations.

Promote best practices in food handling, workplace safety, and grooming standards.

 

5. Resource & Equipment Management:

  • Supervise the proper use of training materials and equipment.
  • Report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance issues.

 

6. Collaboration & Consulting:

  • Work closely with the F&B Director, Quality Team, and other department leaders to align training with operational goals.
  • Participate in departmental meetings to provide updates on training progress and areas for improvement.

 

7. Additional Responsibilities:

  • Support the implementation of Blue Diamond Resorts' leadership model within the F&B team.
  • Promote company values, policies, and service culture across all training sessions.
  • Participate in the Blue Diamond Resorts ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) program.

  • Internal: Food & Beverage Manager, Service/Bar/Kitchen Area Leaders, Quality Team, People & Culture
  • External: Training providers, Educational and certifying institutions

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Training & Development, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a training role within the hospitality industry, preferably in F&B.
  • Strong knowledge of F&B operations, customer service standards, and training methodologies.
  • Excellent presentation, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and learning management systems.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Preferred Skills:

  • Certification in Training & Development (e.g., Certified Hospitality Trainer).
  • Multilingual abilities are an asset.
  • Experience working in a luxury or all-inclusive resort environment.
