Join the Investment team with a leading investment advisory and broker-dealer firm. Assist the Investment Managers with managing client investment portfolios by communicating financial solutions in an effective and articulate manner.
The Fixed Income & Equity Trader will be responsible for executing trades in both domestic and international markets across fixed income securities (government bonds, corporate bonds, structured products) and equities (local and global listed securities, ETFs, and ADRs). The trader will actively monitor market developments, identify trading opportunities, and ensure best execution in line with regulatory standards and the firm’s investment strategy.
This role requires strong analytical skills, risk management discipline, and familiarity with trading platforms, market data systems, and settlement processes. The successful candidate will work closely with portfolio managers, research analysts, and compliance to deliver value to clients and support the firm’s growth.
Trading Execution
· Execute buy and sell orders for fixed income and equity securities across regional and international markets.
· Ensure best execution, price discovery, and adherence to trading guidelines.
· Liaise with brokers, custodians, and counterparties to confirm and settle trades.
Market Monitoring & Analysis
· Monitor real-time market data, yield curves, credit spreads, and equity price movements.
· Analyze macroeconomic trends, monetary policy, and geopolitical factors impacting fixed income and equity markets.
· Generate trade ideas and strategies aligned with client mandates and firm objectives.
Risk & Compliance
· Maintain accurate trade records and ensure compliance with TTSEC, CBTT, and international regulatory standards.
· Monitor portfolio exposures, liquidity risks, and counterparty risks.
· Ensure adherence to AML/CFT, KYC, and Code of Ethics requirements.
Client & Internal Support
· Provide input to portfolio managers and client relationship officers on market opportunities and trade performance.
· Assist in preparing trade reports, portfolio reviews, and performance attribution.
· Contribute to investment committee discussions and strategy development.
· Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related field (Master’s degree or CFA designation an asset).
· 3–5 years’ experience in trading fixed income and equity securities, preferably in a broker-dealer, bank, or asset management environment.
· Strong knowledge of Caribbean, Latin American, and global capital markets.
· Proficiency with Bloomberg, Refinitiv, or equivalent trading/market data platforms.
· Understanding of fixed income instruments (Treasuries, corporates, GORTT bonds, FRBs, notes, etc.) and equities (TTSE, NYSE, NASDAQ).
· Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
· High attention to detail, ability to work under pressure, and excellent communication skills.
