FINANCIAL CONTROLLER
The successful candidate will be responsible for our regional portfolio of luxury all-inclusive Caribbean resorts. He/she will also serve as a key member of the regional executive team, overseeing accounting, finance, procurement, inventory management, cost control, compliance, and risk management, while ensuring cross-functional collaboration throughout the region, with corporate, legal, audit, government, and other agencies.
Specific Requirements/Duties of the Position Include:
- Managing and overseeing team performance through performance planning, training, coaching and performance appraisals
- Identifying and coordinating training requirements of the audit team members to ensure that the work is delivered at the required standard
- Identifying and implementing more efficient reporting methods for management while maintaining strong controls and high service standards.
- Overseeing all medium- to high-risk activities, including taxes, internal and external audits, licenses, permits, certifications, insurance, pensions, medical benefits, and guest liabilities to ensure full regulatory and corporate compliance.
- Developing and maintaining a comprehensive accounting framework that ensures strong safeguards against fraud and irregularities, with particular focus on high-risk areas such as income audit, cost control, payroll, and accounts payable.
- Establishing and enforcing financial and operational controls across all revenue-generating areas and cost-control functions to safeguard revenue, minimize losses, and control costs.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Master’s degree, preferably in Accounting, Business, hospitality, or another related field
- Qualified and active member of a relevant professional accountancy organisation (e.g., ACCA, IIA, etc.).
- Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite (i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook);
- Knowledge of company policies and procedures;
- General understanding of accounting practices and principles;
- Knowledge of financial and banking regulations;
