Sagicor Group Jamaica Limited is seeking a suitable candidate to join our Group Corporate Accounting team in the capacity of:

 

 

Financial Control Manager

 

 

Provide overall management support of team members and the Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

 

Oversee and be responsible for the full financial reporting function of Alliance Financial Services Limited as well as provide support to the Chief Executive Officer and collaborate with the Group Finance management team.

 

 

Location: Kingston

 

As a Financial Control Manager, you will:

 

  • Oversee accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable and maintenance of the general ledger.
  • Prepare, analyse and present accurate monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements for Alliance Financial Services Limited.
  • Prepare and submit periodic board report and reporting packages to the Group Finance team within the stipulated timeline.
  • Responsible for the review of sub-ledger to general ledger reconciliations, bank, intercompany and other key reconciliations and accounting schedules.
  • Ensure accurate and timely maintenance of general ledger balances.
  • Responsibile for overseeing the budgeting and forecasting processes; provide analysis of variances.
  • Ensure compliance with tax, audit and other legal regulations by submitting required reports timely.
  • Coordinate with external and internal auditors and manage quarterly and annual audit processes and achieve audit clearance by the timeline stipulated by the Group team.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy of accounting information.
  • Develop, mentor and foster good team morale.
  • Perform other job-related duties assigned from time to time.

 

What do you need?

 

  • Completion of ACCA or CPA or equivalent qualification from a recognized professional body or tertiary institution.
  • A minimum of three (3) to five (5) years’ working experience in an accounting managerial capacity. Financial Services industry experience is advantageous.
  • Sound knowledge of financial industry and regulations, financial accounting practices and standards in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards.
  • Must be able to work on your own initiative and make excellent financial management decisions.
  • High level of integrity and confidentiality.
  • Sound knowledge of computer software packages including spreadsheet and word processing applications.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact credibly and comfortable at all levels.
  • Attention to details and excellent time management skills.
  • Strong critical thinking, problem solving and financial analytical skills.
