JOB SUMMARY
The Finance Analyst will support manufacturing operations by providing financial and operational analysis to improve cost control, asset utilisation, and operational efficiency. The role is responsible for reviewing costings, inventory reconciliations, fixed asset management, and delivering accurate month-end management reporting based on data from manufacturing plants. This position works closely with Operations, Finance, and Plant Management to ensure data integrity, transparency, and informed decision-making.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Costing & Financial Analysis
- Review and analyse product and operational costings to ensure accuracy and consistency.
- Investigate variances between actual and standard costs, identifying root causes and trends.
- Support cost optimisation initiatives across manufacturing operations
Inventoy & Reconciliations
- Review inventory reconciliations for manufacturing plants, ensuring alignment between physical stock and financial records.
- Investigate discrepancies and work with operations teams to resolve issues.
- Monitor inventory movements, obsolescence, and valuation.
Operational Efficiency Analysis
- Analyse operational and production data to identify efficiency gaps, waste, and improvement opportunities.
- Develop and maintain performance metrics and dashboards for plan operations.
- Provide data-driven insights to support continuous improvement initiatives
Month-End Reporting
- Prepare and review month-end management reports, including operational and
- Ensure timely, accurate reporting aligned with internal controls and reporting standards.
- Support variance analysis and commentary for management review.
Fixed Asset Management
- Maintain and manage the fixed asset register, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting policies.
- Review capital expenditure, asset additions, disposals, and depreciation.
- Support periodic fixed asset verification and audits.
Stakeholder Support & Governance
- Collaborate with Finance, Operations, and Plant Management teams to ensure data accuracy and alignment.
- Support internal and external audits by providing documentation and analysis.
- Contribute to process improvements and strengthening of internal controls.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Engineering, or a related field
2-5 years' experience in operations finance, cost accounting, or manufacturing analysis
Experience with inventory management, costings, and fixed asset accounting
Advanced Excel skills; experience with ERP systems (e.g. SAP, Oracle, NetSuite)
