Facilities Manager

Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Ensure properties are well maintained and all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems are fully operational.
    • Manage preventive and predictive maintenance programs and ensure all maintenance requests are logged through the maintenance software.
    • Ensure guest rooms, meeting rooms, restaurants, kitchens, accommodation areas, and public spaces are maintained in excellent working condition.
    • Monitor maintenance requests to ensure quick response times and efficient service delivery.
    • Ensure all tools, equipment, and spare parts required for maintenance work are available and in good condition.
    • Maintain accurate inventory records for all tools and equipment on the properties.
    • Ensure emergency generators are regularly serviced and ready for use during power outages.
    • Prepare scope-of-work documents for tenders and oversee related maintenance and improvement projects.
    • Oversee the maintenance and servicing of company vehicles to ensure they remain operational.
    • Respond quickly and effectively to emergencies and urgent maintenance issues.
    • Prepare and manage annual maintenance budgets.
    • Monitor staff performance to ensure high service standards and best practices are maintained.
    • Ensure both properties comply with all health, safety, environmental, and legal requirements.
    • Maintain a safe, healthy, and secure environment for guests and employees.
    • Promote safe work practices and ensure safety procedures are followed by all staff.
    • Prepare staff schedules to support the hotel’s 24/7 operational needs.
    • Identify training needs for maintenance and security staff and support employee development plans.
    • Prepare and submit maintenance and operational reports as required.
    • Maintain accurate maintenance records for all equipment and related assets for easy access and reference. 
     

Skills, Knowledge and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • 5-10 years relevant experience with at least two (2) years in a Management/Supervisory role. (Equivalent experience in excess of ten (10) years may be considered in lieu of the academic qualifications)
  • Good working knowledge of mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) systems, building components, builder’s work, waterproofing, cladding and glazing, interior finishes, fixtures and fittings
  • Experience with a Computerized Maintenance Management system will be an asset.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience in the service/hospitality industry is an asset
