Ensure properties are well maintained and all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems are fully operational.
Manage preventive and predictive maintenance programs and ensure all maintenance requests are logged through the maintenance software.
Ensure guest rooms, meeting rooms, restaurants, kitchens, accommodation areas, and public spaces are maintained in excellent working condition.
Monitor maintenance requests to ensure quick response times and efficient service delivery.
Ensure all tools, equipment, and spare parts required for maintenance work are available and in good condition.
Maintain accurate inventory records for all tools and equipment on the properties.
Ensure emergency generators are regularly serviced and ready for use during power outages.
Prepare scope-of-work documents for tenders and oversee related maintenance and improvement projects.
Oversee the maintenance and servicing of company vehicles to ensure they remain operational.
Respond quickly and effectively to emergencies and urgent maintenance issues.
Prepare and manage annual maintenance budgets.
Monitor staff performance to ensure high service standards and best practices are maintained.
Ensure both properties comply with all health, safety, environmental, and legal requirements.
Maintain a safe, healthy, and secure environment for guests and employees.
Promote safe work practices and ensure safety procedures are followed by all staff.
Prepare staff schedules to support the hotel’s 24/7 operational needs.
Identify training needs for maintenance and security staff and support employee development plans.
Prepare and submit maintenance and operational reports as required.
Maintain accurate maintenance records for all equipment and related assets for easy access and reference.
Skills, Knowledge and Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
5-10 years relevant experience with at least two (2) years in a Management/Supervisory role. (Equivalent experience in excess of ten (10) years may be considered in lieu of the academic qualifications)
Good working knowledge of mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) systems, building components, builder’s work, waterproofing, cladding and glazing, interior finishes, fixtures and fittings
Experience with a Computerized Maintenance Management system will be an asset.
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite
Experience in the service/hospitality industry is an asset
