Equities & Fixed Income Trader

The trader is responsible for executing equity and fixed income transactions on behalf of clients and the company. The role involves managing cash flow, trading bonds and equities, monitoring market trends, and maintaining strong relationships with brokers and clients.

Position Summary:

The trader is responsible for executing equity and fixed income transactions on behalf of clients and the company. The role involves managing cash flow, trading bonds and equities, monitoring market trends, and maintaining strong relationships with brokers and clients. The incumbent will also contribute to product development and provide strategic insights to the management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Execute equity and fixed income trades in Jamaican and US dollar markets.
• Monitor market trends and provide timely insights to management.
• Manage daily cash balances and ensure liquidity for operational needs.
• Liaise with brokers, clients, and internal teams to support trading activities.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory and internal policies.

Knowledge, Qualifications, Experience & Competencies:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Finance, Accounting, or Management Studies.
• Jamaican Securities Course Certificate.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role within financial services.
• Strong knowledge of equity and fixed income products.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and financial software.
• CFA or ACCA designation is an asset.
