The Equipment Officer oversees equipment management at Massy Wood, ensuring maintenance, repairs, certifications, and accurate timewriting. The role includes managing tool stores, rigging, CCUs, welding plants, compressors, and other key assets.

Overview / Responsibilites

Massy Wood is currently recruiting for an Equipment Officer with extensive experience in the oil and gas industry. 

The Equipment Officer will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of equipment management within Massy Wood. This role involves ensuring the preventative maintenance, repair, certification, and Timewriting accuracy of equipment. Additionally, the Coordinator will manage specific areas such as tool stores, rigging, containers/cargo carrying units (CCUs), welding plants, compressors, and other critical assets.

  • Ensure equipment management procedures are followed.
  • Oversee proper handling of equipment.
  • Optimize equipment storage utilization.
  • Assure personnel manage back loaded items reviewing their condition and quantity and updating the system to reflect this information.
  • Provide logistic support to the maintenance department in their efforts to search and locate available materials.
  • Provide guidance to new personnel joining the team.
  • Participate in daily toolbox meetings to provide guidance to team on priority tasks to be executed.
  • Maintains warehousing, operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing operational, and personnel policies and procedures.
  • Complies with all international standards and ensures adherence to requirements, advising management on needed actions.
  • Maintains staff by assisting with the recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.
  • Provides coaching and mentoring to employees, planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
  • Ensures that personnel certifications are kept current in accordance with internal or international regulations.
  • Oversee that all materials are received with the necessary documentation and that such documents are properly filed.
  • Assure all processes are followed in accordance to set procedures.
  • Tagging of spares.
  • Implement a preventative maintenance schedule for all equipment.
  • Ensure that all equipment is serviced on time to avoid breakdowns and minimize downtime.
  • Oversee and ensure the accuracy of time writing for all equipment usage.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure accurate recording and reporting of equipment usage.
  • Coordinate all equipment repair and maintenance activities.
  • Ensure all equipment remains certified and compliant with industry standards.
  • Liaise with vendors and internal teams for equipment repair and servicing.
  • Manage resources across various equipment areas including tool stores, rigging, CCUs, welding plant, compressors, and more.
  • Allocate resources effectively to ensure smooth operation and minimal disruption.
  • Support with technical feedback to source spare parts and equipment.
  • Maintain inventory of critical spare parts to prevent delays in maintenance and repairs.
  • Ensure equipment and necessary resources are properly mobilized for projects and operations.
  • Work closely with operations and project teams to guarantee that all equipment is ready for deployment.
  • Perform all other related job functions as required.

 

Qualifications

  • National Engineering Technician Diploma; Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation or Industrial.
  • 5+ years of experience in equipment management or a related role.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and safety regulations for equipment management.
  • Must be able to read and understand written procedures, shipping documents, safety manuals, and safety warning signs.
  • Advanced knowledge in Hazardous Material Management and spill containment mitigation tasks.
  • Proven experience in equipment management, preferably within the oil and gas or industrial sectors.
  • Strong understanding of preventative maintenance, repair coordination, and equipment certification.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills across multiple teams and departments.
  • Ability to manage resources effectively and work under pressure.
  • Proficiency in Timewriting and asset tracking software is a plus.
  • Valid Certificate of Good Character (must not be older than 6 months).
  • Preference will be given to national citizens or permanent residents of Trinidad & Tobago.
