The Electrical Sales Engineer is responsible for driving revenue growth through the promotion, specification, and sale of electrical products and engineered solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Sales & Business Development:
  • Identify, develop, and close new sales opportunities within assigned territories or accounts.
  • Manage and grow an existing customer portfolio, including contractors, engineers, consultants, and industrial clients.
  • Prepare and present technical and commercial proposals, quotations, and tenders.
  • Negotiate pricing, delivery terms, and commercial conditions within approved authority levels.
  • Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales and margin targets.
  • Technical Support & Product Expertise
  • Provide accurate technical advice on electrical products and systems, including specifications, applications, and compliance requirements.
  • Support customers with product selection, system design input, and value engineering where required.
  • Liaise with suppliers and internal technical teams to resolve product or application issues.
  • Stay current with electrical codes, standards, and emerging technologies relevant to the market.
  1. Customer Relationship Management
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key decision-makers and influencers.
  • Conduct regular customer visits, site inspections, and technical presentations.
  • Respond promptly to customer inquiries, complaints, and after-sales issues.
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and repeat business.
  1. Reporting & Administration
  • Maintain accurate records of sales activities, pipelines, and forecasts in the company’s ERP/CRM system.
  • Prepare sales reports, forecasts, and market intelligence updates for management.
  • Ensure all documentation (quotations, orders, contracts) is accurate and compliant with company procedures.
  1. Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
  • Work closely with internal teams such as procurement, warehouse, finance, and operations to ensure timely delivery and invoicing.
  • Participate in sales meetings, product training, and performance reviews.
  • Contribute to process improvements, product range development, and go-to-market strategies.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Technology, or a related field
  • Minimum 2–5 years’ experience in electrical sales, technical sales, or engineering solutions, Training will be provided for persons without experience.
  • Strong understanding of electrical products, systems, and industry standards
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets

Skills & Competencies

Strong technical and commercial acumen

Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills

Customer-focused with a consultative sales approach

Proficient in ERP/CRM systems and Microsoft Office

Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel as required
