To conduct, maintain, test, adjust, calibrate and repair electrical/electronic, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems and components, and to provide skilled electronic support to all areas of the Company’s operations.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITES:

1. Plans and performs work requiring a thorough knowledge of electrical/electronic and mechanical theories and principles.
2. Troubleshoots and repairs electrical/electronic, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, including programmable controllers, numeral controls, power supplies, drives, gauges and test equipment.
3. Reads and works to the indicated accuracy, specifications and tolerances as detailed on engineering drawings, blueprints and equipment manuals.
4. Configures, operates and reads precision testing and measuring instruments in accordance with manufacturers’ specifications and accuracy.
5. Installs, troubleshoots, repairs, modifies, calibrates and makes adjustments based on the diagnosis, using repair parts, by correcting existing parts or by innovation to select substitute parts.
6. Advises operators and line mechanics of the appropriate operating procedures and requirements for working safely with electrical/electronic and mechanical equipment and components.
7. Informs appropriate management and line mechanics of potential electrical/mechanical problems and inherent dangers involved.

 JOB SPECIFICATION:

Qualifications/Education:

• EEET or an equivalent technical certification from a recognise institution.

• A thorough knowledge of electrical/electronic components and equipment, including the use of special instruments for diagnostic purposes

• Familiarity with local electrical codes, and the principles of operation and application of electronic equipment.
• A technical training programme from a recognise institution will be an asset.

 Skills/Experience:

• At least 5 years’ experience in the field of troubleshooting and repairs to electrical / electronics in an industrial environment.
• At least 3 years’ PLC/Micro-processors Diagnostics and repairs on packaging equipment in a computerize environment.
• Experience in a food manufacturing environment working on a shift basis would be an asset.
• Sound knowledge of HVAC systems operation and maintenance/repairs.
