The Engineering Surveyor is responsible for providing precise spatial data and measurements to support the design, construction, monitoring and maintenance of engineering infrastructure projects.

JOB SUMMARY

The Engineering Surveyor is a professional responsible for providing precise spatial data and measurements to support the design, construction, monitoring and maintenance of engineering and infrastructure projects.  The incumbent bridges surveying, civil engineering and project management to ensure accuracy and compliance with specifications.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Setting Out and Alignment - Establish control points, benchmarks and mark out foundations, road alignments and structures.
  2. Topographic and Engineering Surveys - Conduct surveys to generate maps, profiles and terrain models for design.
  3. Monitoring and Deformation Surveys - Monitor settlement, deflections and structural movement; provide as-built verification.
  4. Data Management & CAD/GIS Integration - Process field data with modern instruments, prepare CAD drawings, BIM and GIS models.
  5. Quality Control and Verification - Ensure construction works conform to design specifications, minimizing rework.
  6. Health, Safety and Environmental Considerations - Conduct surveys safely in compliance with HSE policies.
KEY COMPETENCIES/REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE
  • Technical Competence - Proficiency in survey intruments.
  • Analytical Skills - Ability to interpret and analyze spatial data for engineering decisions.
  • Attention to Accuracy - Deliver precise measurement with allowable tolerances.
  • Communication and Reporting -  Prepare clear reports, drawings and liaise with engineering and clients.
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Degree/Diploma in Geomatics/Surveying/Civil Engineering; professional body registration.
  • Demonstrated competency normally acquired overa a minimum of seven (7) years' experience in an Industrial Environment (Petrochemical, Port, Terminal, Marine operations or in similar facilities of similar contracts/projects and complexity will be considered for onshore and offshore as applicable).
